Bloodletting
A. Reflection:
Bloodletting is collecting blood from a patient which can help cure illnesses and prevent
diseases. During the bloodletting activity by the Red Cross, I was able to realize how donating
blood can help save a lot of lives. Each donation may contain lots of different components which
could probably save different people. Also, it is to take into consideration that blood is not man
made and can never be manufactured by any means despite advancements in our technology in
this modern time. Because of this, blood donation can only be the means in order for us to donate
and help in saving the lives of possible thousands of people. Also, a bag of blood that is donated
may not be able to help someone at present but may needed by another person someday. Blood is
also needed for regular transfusions for people with a certain type of disease so it is important to
maintain the supply of blood for blood can be stored only for a specific amount of time. With all
things considered, donating blood plays a big role in our society today especially with the fact that
numerous diseases are becoming prevalent in the society, thus, making blood to be considered as
of the most precious gift someone can give to a person with needs, something that we may consider
as a gift of life.
