1 Product Indroduction
● VERITRON® GLBI 625 field supply unit is designed for the ● Signal transmission between PAD/PSD 6.. and GLBI 625
controlled field supply of DC motors. It is based on the is via a 10-conductor ribbon cable.
GLB(K) 6.. series. These signals are transmitted:
● The VERITRON® GLBI 625 field supply unit has been - field current reference from PAD/PSD 6.. 0 ... 10 V
specifically designed for use with VERITRON® PAD/ - field current feedback from GLBI 625 0 ... 10 V
PSD 6.. armature current controllers and STANDARD or - 'Ready for operation' from GLBI 625 active =^15 V
COMPLEX memory modules.
Other Features
Generally, for the PAD/PSD 7 armature current controller
(IdN ≥ 875 A) we recommend an external three-phase field ● P gain of current regulator adjustable with potentiometer

● Easy mounting
Nevertheless, if an integrated field supply (GLBI 625)
should be selected, mechanical adaptations are necessary ● Quick start-up
(more information upon request). ● Terminal board for power connections (up to max. 4 mm2)
● Supply voltages (+10 % ... -15 %):

● Main components
- Power pack with pulse generation and trigger unit longer ribbon cables are needed for connecting plugs X12:
- Field current regulator and X13:, because of the increased mounting depth of the
- Field current measurement GLBI 625. PAD/PSD controller manufactured later than this
date already incorporate these longer cables.
The controller’s power section consists of a half-controlled,
symmetrical single-phase bridge with free-wheeling circuit.
Required cables:
The control electronics section is built in SMD technology
and, in part, electrically isolated from the power section.

The regulator consists of several sections which, in part, are
isolated from the mains potential by optical couplers (see
6 Mounting and Start-up
block diagram). Instructions
These sections have mains potential: Mounting instructions
- current regulator with feedback current measurement (Remove power from the unit!)
- pulse generation and thyristor trigger unit.
● Unplug ribbon cable plugs X12: and X13: from the control
These sections are electrically isolated or have the PAD/PSD system board PP5301.
armature current controller 0 V level:
● Swing the front chassis (PP5301) downwards, unplug the
- 'ready for operation' signal
ground connection and, subsequently, unhinge the
- current feedback output chassis.
- current reference input.
