first shot not feel bad about it just remember that is a good opportunity for you to review the
content of the test and come back and read or practice what you need to successfully pass the
test.
If you need to have an official learning materials contact your Local Microsoft Learning Center
for the following courses.
1. Q. Can you use the Exchange Server connector to find which mobile devices are
connecting to your Exchange Online Services?
A. Yes
New in System Center 2012 Configuration Manager, the Exchange server connector
allows you to find and manage devices that connect to Exchange Server (on-
Premise or hosted) by using the Exchange ActiveSync protocol.
2. Q. Which of the following are stored in the content library? Chose all that Apply.
A. Software Updates, Packages and Applications
The content library in System Center 2012 Configuration Manager store source files
to deploy software updates, packages, applications, drivers and images for
operating system deployment, and so on. The content library provides a single
instance store for content files on the site server and distribution points.
Distribution point groups provide a logical grouping of distribution points for
content distribution, but they are not stored in the content library.
4. Q. Now System Center 2012 Configuration Manager uses Microsoft SQL Server 2008
Reporting Services Report Builder 2.0 as the exclusive authoring and editing tool
for reports, must you first install Report Builder 2.0 before you can create or
modify Reports?
A. No
Report Builder 2.0 is automatically installed when you create or modify a report for the
first time.
5. Q. Has the CCM Folder for client-related files (such as the client cache and log
files) changed since Configuration Manager 2007?
A. Yes
To support the new 64-bit client, the location of the CCM folder for client-related files
(such as the client cache and log files) has changed from %windir%\system32 to
%windir%. If you reference the CCM Folder these references for the new folder
location for Microsoft System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Clients.
6. Q. Does System Center 2012 Configuration Manager still have a central site?
A. No
The top-level Configuration Manager 2007 site in a multi-primary site hierarchy was
known as a central site. In System Center 2012 Configuration Manager the Central Site
is replaced by the central administration site. The central administration site is not a
primary site at the top of the hierarchy, but rather a site that is used for reporting and
to facilitate communication between primary sites in the hierarchy.
8. Which of the following console features are new to System Center 2012
Configuration Manager? Choose all that apply.
A. Workspaces, Objects are hidden if you don’t have permission to see them, browse and
verify capability for many accounts and temporary nodes
All these console features are new to System Center 2012 Configuration Manager, in
addition to the ribbon. Workspaces, such as Assets and Compliance workspace
provide logical grouping of objects. Role-Based administration can hide objects from
view. The browse and verify capability for accounts helps to eliminate
misconfiguration and can be useful for troubleshooting scenarios. And temporary
nodes are automatically created and selected as result of actions that you take and that
do not display after you close the console.
9. Which of the following changes apply to HTTPS client communication, which used
to be known as native mode in Configuration Manager 2007?
A. Mobile device clients must uses HTTPS, Internet Based clients must uses HTTPS, you
no longer create and configure a site server signing certificate, SHA-2 is now
supported.
Site system roles in the same site can have different settings, for example, some
management points are configured for HTTPS and some are configured for HTTP. Mobile
Devices and client connections over the internet must use HTTPS. You don’t have to
specify a PKI certificate for document signing(the site server signing certificates in
configuration manager 2007) because system center 2012 configuration manager
automatically create this certificate(self-signed), in addition, many certificates now
support SHA-2 in addition to SHA-1.
.
10. Can you have a subset of computers in the site that are enabled for remote
control?
A. Yes
These types of client settings are no longer restricted to the site. Instead System
Center 2012 Configuration Manager has client settings that are applied at the
hierarchy. If you need additional flexibility for groups of users or computers, configure
custom client settings and assign them to collections. For Example, you can configure
remote control to be available only on specified computers.
12. If you want to continue to manage mobile devices as you did in Configuration
Manager 2007(Now referred to as mobile device legacy clients), which of the following
are no longer supported?
A. File collection, Settings and Multiple Management Points.
Whereas Configuration Manager 2007 did not required PKI certificates, System Center
2012 Configuration Manager requires PKI certificates on the mobile device and the
management point and distribution points. Multiple management points, file
collection and setting management are not supported for mobile device legacy clients.
16. Does client status (used to be client status reporting) now support automatic
remediation?
A. Yes
Typical client problems that are detected are automatically remediated.
17. Which of the following have changed for endpoint protection since Forefront
endpoint protection 2010?
A. Setup for Endpoint Protection, Installation of the Endpoint Protection, Installation of
the Endpoint Protection Client, Notification of malware.
You no longer run a separate setup program to install endpoint protection server, but
instead select the endpoint protection as one of the available configuration manager
site system roles. The endpoint protection dashboard is automatically integrated with
configuration manager console. You now install endpoint protection client by using
client settings and you can configure multiple malware alert types and subscriptions to
notify you about these alerts by using email.
18. Do alerts in System Center 2012 Configuration Manager work the same way as
alerts in Operations Manager?
A. No
Alerts are new In System Center 2012 Configuration Manager and provide near real-time
awareness of current site operations and conditions in the Configuration Manager
console. Alerts are state based and automatically update when conditions change. System
Center 2012 Configuration Manager Alerts are not similar to status messages in
Configuration Manager, nor are they similar to alerts in other System Center products,
such as those found in Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007.
19. Which of the following apply to application management in System Center 2012
Configuration Manager?
A. An application might have multiple deployment types, Deployments replace
advertisements, and you can configure detection methods to determine whether a
deployment type has already been installed on a device.
An application might have multiple deployment types – for example an application
could contain deployment types for local installation of a software package, a virtual
application package or a version of application for mobile devices. Deployments do
replace Configuration Manager 2007 advertisements and you can configure detection
methods or use a script to determine whether a deployment type has already been
installed on a device. However, you can deploy applications to mobile devices that are
enrolled by Configuration Manager.
20. Which of the following site system roles from Configuration Manager 2007 are
removed from System Center 2012 Configuration Manager?
A. Reporting Point, Server Locator Point and Branch Distribution Point
All reports are now generated by the reporting services point. The functionality of the
server locator point is moved to the management point. The functionality of the
branch distribution point is now a BranchCache setting for an application deployment
type and the package deployment. The state migration point remains the same in
System Center 2012 Configuration Manager, although the PXE service point is
removed and this functionality is moved to the distribution point.
21. Which of the following now apply to compliance setting (used to be named desired
configuration management in Configuration Manager 2007)?
A. You can configure automatic remediation, you can deploy configuration baselines to
users, Maintenance Windows are now supported, and conflict compliance rules are
now detected.
Compliance Settings now supports automatic remediation for WMI, the registry,
scripts and all settings for the mobile devices that are enrolled by Configuration
Manager. You can now deploy configuration baselines to users as well as to computers,
maintenance windows are supported and conflicting compliance rules are now
detected, however, wildcards for registry settings are no longer supported.
22. Which of the following have changed for boundaries in System Center 2012
Configuration Manager?
A. Boundaries are no longer site-specific, boundaries must now be configured for at least
one boundary group before clients can use them, and you no longer configure network
connection speed of a boundary.
Boundaries are no longer site specific, but defined once for the hierarchy and they are
available at all sites in the hierarchy. Each boundary must be a member of a boundary
group before a device on that boundary can identify and assigned site, or a content
server such as distribution point. You can still use IP subnets to define a boundary but
you no longer configure the network connection speed of each boundary.
24. Can you now have more than none Internet-Based management point in a primary
site?
A. Yes
You can now have more than one internet-based management point in a primary site,
although you can specify only one when you configure clients for internet-based client
management. When internet-based clients communicate with the specified internet-
based management point, they will be given a list of all the internet-based
management points in the site and then select one.
25. What does the fallback site do in System Center 2012 Configuration Manager?
A. Reassigns a client to a site during automatic site assignment if the client is not within
a specified boundary group.
New in System Center 2012 Configuration Manager, if you specify a fallback site (an
optional setting for the hierarchy) and then client is not in a boundary group,
automatic site assignment succeeds and the client is assigned to the specified fallback
site.
26. Which of the following are new for internet-based management in System Center
2012 Configuration Manager?
A. User Policies, Task Sequences, Using Microsoft Update to download software updates.
New in Internet-based client management, User policies are supported when the
Internet-based management point can authenticate the user by using Windows
authentication; task sequences are supported for simple scripts and internet-based
clients on the internet first try to download any required software updates from
Microsoft Updates, rather than from an Internet-based distribution point in their
assigned site. However, deploying and operating system over the internet is still not
supported.
27. Which of the following is now true for operating system deployment in System
Center 2012 Configuration Manager?
A. You can use the same task sequence media to deploy operating systems to computers
anywhere in the hierarchy, the capture user state task sequence action and restore
user state task sequence steps support new features from USMT version 4.
Task sequence media was previously restricted to a site and capture user state task
sequence action and the restore user state task sequence steps supports new features
from the user state migration tool (USMT) version 4. However, there are no changes
to the state migration point and instead, the functionality of the PXE service point
from Configuration Manager 2007 is now moved to distribution points. SMSTrace is
renamed to CMTrace is System Center 2012 Configuration Manager and this is now
automatically added to all boot images that you add to the software library.
28. Which of the following are new for software updates in System Center 2012
Configuration Manager?
A. Software update groups, Automatic deployment rules, Software update alerts, Control
over when a superseded software update is expired.
Software update groups replaces update list that were used in Configuration Manager
2007 and you can now configure automatic deployment rules to automatically approve
and deploy software updates. The new alerts functionality applies to software updates
so that you can see important issues in the configuration manager console. You can
now manager superseded software updates whereas in configuration manager 2007,
they were automatically expired. Additionally, internet-based clients on the internet
first try to download the software files from the Microsoft Update instead of from
Internet-Based distribution points.
29. Which of the following CCMSetup options or Client.MSI properties are no longer
supported?
A. /native:[<native mode option>], SMSDIRECTORYLOOKUP=WINSPROMISCUOUS
The /Native:[<native mode option>] CCMSetup option is no longer used and is
replaced with /UsePKICert, SMSSIGNCERT is still used but now requires the exported
self-signed certificate of the site server. SMSSLP remains supported, but only to specify
the computer name of the management points. However,
30. Have Active Directory schema extensions changed in System Center 2012
Configuration Manager since Configuration Manager 2007?
A. No
The Active Directory schema extensions for System Center 2012 Configuration
Manager are unchanged from those used by Configuration Manager 2007. If you
extended the schema for Configuration Manager 2007, you do not need to extend the
schema again for System Center 2012 Configuration Manager.
Now that you have review this 30 questions and have the answers, why not scheduling the test
now. If you want to test some more remember to visit the online quiz for more questions.
