It is a Four years intensive programme focusing on various functional and operational areas of the Apparel industry. ‘The student from the Department of Fashion Technology would pursue their summer internship with leading organization in India and Abroad. ‘The student for internship have completed three years of study in the areas of ~ ‘Apparel Production Planning and Control Costing of Apparel Products Maintenance Management Apparel Quality Management Computer Aided Production Planning ‘Sewn Production and Management Equipments Spreading and Cutting of Apparel Products Industrial Engineering Enterprise Resource Planning Pattern Making & garment Construction Data Structure & Algorithm design The internship duration is of Eight weeks starting from 03"° June 2019 aims at providing an intense and dynamic interaction with the industry so as to facilitate the requisite insight and appreciation of working in the industry to the students, The internship also strengthens the various concepts, the students have learned in their classroom. It is also during internship that opinions are formed amongst student community about a company which often plays a critical role during placements. ‘The apparel internship has four phases: Phase 1 — Includes one week of orientation of the company, understanding the infrastructural set up and its mode of functioning. Phase 2 ~ Including Four weeks wherein the students conduct: i. Capacity study for spreading & cutting activities, the machines available in the factory from the cutting room to the finishing room and analyze the available reporting format used in the organization. Work Sampling Study v. Documentation of the cost benefit analysis of Apparel CAD System being used by the ‘organization and conducting an analysis of software features (any module of specialized software like ERP or PDM/PLM or production scheduling etc.) vis a vis organizational requirement. Phase 3 — Includes Two weeks wherein the students undertake a project on shop floor as per the specific brief given by the company. The assignment attempts to initiate the student to the gamut of activities in an export house / buying house / corporate organization / manufacturing unit so that he/she understands the process in its entirety, Phase 4 ~ Includes one week wherein the students will submit a detailed report and presentation of the Project undertaken to the industry mentor and a feedback should be sought.
