Place parts

Notes:
Place all parts first,
before routing!!

There are 2 PADs,

it does not matter
which one you
choose
Once everything is placed,
use Net to wire your
schematic
Make sure everything is
connected as shown in the lab
manual

Right Click to Add Values to

Resistors and Capacitors
Once values and wires are
checked, run an ERC check

Make sure the only

warning is that
certain parts have
“no value”
At this point call me over and have me check your schematic

If all is good, save your schematic as your user name and lab section as shown
Switch to Board File

Yes
Click DRC check Change everything to 15mil
Click Apply
 DRC of board file (size Tab)

Change minimum width to 10mil and click “Apply”

Change from mil to inches

Check

This indicates the coordinates

of the mouse
Use mouse to move dimension layer for our board

Needs to be either 3X4 or 4X3, depending on what

you want your design to be

Can not be larger than these dimensions

 Tools for creating your board design
Select type of Line
Only use these Tools!!

Line Circle
Change Layer to “46 Milling”
Arc

Keep your design within dimensions

(Example: Basic Rectangle design 4X3)

The Teal color represents the

milling layer, you need to have
this as your outline!!!
NEVER USE FLIP!!!!

Use Group tool to highlight a

group of components

Switch to move tool, Right Click

and select “Move: Group”

Move group into design

Use Autorouter NEVER USE FLIP!!!!

Turn Top Layer Off

Click “Continue”

Push Start

Look for any that say 100%

If none hit “Cancel” and move components

around
 After moving Uncheck box
components, retry
Autorouter

NEVER USE FLIP!!!!

Turn top
layer off Look for any that
say 100%, select
the 100% (1-5)

Continue If you have a 100%

AND IT STAYS
WITHIN YOUR
DESIGN, click
“Evaluate” to
confirm route
To remove a previous route, click on “Ripup”

Then click on the “Go” icon and then accept “yes”

This is required if you already have a route,

you can not reroute over your old route!!!
When your design and routing is complete, add your
name to the board (This needs to be on there, make sure
there is room)
NEVER USE FLIP!!!!

Go to properties (Right click on the little plus sign of the

text)

Check Mirror

Change ratio to 16%

Font to Vector

Bottom Layer
 Call TA over to give your design a
final check, if approved save and
Final DRC Check upload to canvas

NOTE: This does not mean that you

have a perfect board, it means we
didn’t see anything wrong this time
through. It is still your responsibility to
make sure everything is good so you
do not lose points on submission

In lower left hand side of screen
