PROBA SCRISA LA DISCIPLINA:

METODICA PREDĂRII LIMBII ŞI LITERATURII ENGLEZE

I. Consider the following text:

An aged man is but a paltry thing,

1. Explain the theme of the poem as reflected in the fragment. Suggest some methodological approaches
to introduce the poem in class.
2. Explain the possibility offered by the text above for furthering students’ reading skills. Design a
reading activity based on the text.
3. Devise a work sheet with two different types of exercises to pre-teach vocabulary in the text. Each
exercise should contain two items. Specify the learning objectives of the entire activity, students’
level, teaching aids and time limit.

II. Describe the particularities of uncountable nouns in English and the common difficulties faced by the
English teacher in introducing them to Romanian students.

III. Describe the “Presentation, Practice and Production” method in ELT. Exemplify this approach by
referring to practical situations which you encounter as a teacher during your work with the students.
Design a 10-minute activity based on the PPP method to use in an upper intermediate level class focusing
on the issue of countability and uncountability in English. Mention the objectives of the activity, the
expected knowledge, anticipated problems, materials.
