1. Scope
This procedure covers the detail of hydrostatic testing and documentations for
Pressure Vessel for Supply Slug Catcher – Prabumulih.
2. Reference
ASME Sec VIII Div.1 2013 Edition(Rules for Construction of Pressure Vessel.
ASME Sec V, 2013 Edition (Non Destructive Examination)
Client Specification (If Applicable)
3. Responsibilities
4. Preparation
4.1. The pressure vessel and components shall be dimensionally, visually final
inspected by designated Quality Control Inspector, Company Inspector
and Third Party.
4.2 All required radiographic and other NDE test should have been completed
by designated Quality Control Inspector, Company Inspector in
accordance with the specification standard.
4.4 The inside and outside of the vessel shall be cleaned. All foreign matters
such as slag, dirt, loose scale, weld spatter, pieces of metal, oil etc. shall
be removed.

4.5 The weld of each reinforcing pad (if any) shall be given air and soap
solution test at minimum 50 Psi on the present of Company Inspector
before testing the vessel.
Test hole shall be left open for use as tell tale holes.
5. All tests shall be in accordance with ASME sec VIII Div. I 2007 2009 Add. The
Hydrostatic test will perform in the same time (Jumper) with using one Pressure
Recorder
6. All openings, flange nozzles and couplings shall be blinded off. With using
appropriate blind to prevent failure during the test.
7. A valid calibrated Pressure Gauge (min. two) and Pressure Recorder with (2)
Two Pens (Temperature & Pressure Record) shall be used for hydrostatic testing.
* Range of Pressure Gauge and Pressure Recorder shall not least than 1.5
times, but not more than 4 times test pressure of hydrostatic test.
8. Temperature gauge shall be installed into the vessel during hydrostatic testing
for recording the temperature of water. Test water temperature should be
shown.
9. A venting system shall be installed at the highest point of the vessel and be
opened to permit the release air during water filling.
10. Before applying pressure, the test equipment shall be examined to see that it is
tight and all lower pressure filling lines and other appurtenances that should not
be subjected to the test pressure have been disconnected.
For vessels containing stainless steel such as non removal demister, Chloride ion
of the test water shall not exceed 30 ppm.
11. The test pressure at least equal to 1.3 times the Maximum Allowable Working
Pressure. The increase of the pressure as follow below requirements :
13. After the vessel has been pressurized to the required test pressure, the test
pressure shall be set / and hold the pressure for a minimum 2 hours or as per
Migas requirement. Thoroughly check vessel or components visually for leaks
and distortion.
13. Release the pressure after the prescribed holding time and conform zero reading
of the Pressure Gauge and Pressure Recorder.
14. After hydrostatic testing, the vessels shall be promptly and careful drained and
completely dried, especially around trays and internal, and all gasket shall be
replace with new one, after completion of hydrostatic test.
16. All openings to be adequately covered and protected after completion of testing.
Test hole of reinforcing pad shall be filled with non hardening sealant or heavy
duty grease.
17. Documentation
* The hydrostatic test record shall be prepared by Multifab (MF) and signed
by all parties after completion by hydrostatic test.
* The document, stated above shall become part of the Manufacturer Data
Report (MDR).
