[TEST CASE] Static lot sizing procedures ­ the basics

Purpose
I would like to illustrate the difference between the simple static lot­sizing procedures.

Overview
In the three sections I made simple examples for the procedures: exact lot­size, fixed lot­size and replenish up to maximum stock level.

<Exact lot­size>
The lot­sizing procedure and the related settings can be maintained in the material master MRP1 tab.

First we choose the exact lot­size (lot­for­lot order quantity):

We have an independent requirement of 3:

After running MRP we can see that the order proposal is exactly the amount of the requirement:

(If we would have more independent requirements ­ more lines ­ then the sum of them would be the quantity of the generated planned order.)

<Fixed lot­size>
We set the fixed order quantity procedure in the material master and also maintain a fixed lot­size:

We have a new independent requirement in addition to our last planning run:

After running MRP:

It can be seen, if there is a requirement (shortage) the system generates a planned order with quantity 5. 

<Replenish up to maximum stock level>
We set the lot­sizing procedure to 'replenish the maximum stock level' and maintain the maximum stock level:

After running MRP we can see the following results:

The system generated a planned order of 100 as we did not have anything in stock.

What happens if we set up a maximum lot size of quantity 10 and run MRP again?

10 planned orders were generated as the requirement was 100.
