menyembuhkan penyakit seperti diabetes.

Empirically, ebony plant (Diospyros celebica Bakh.) believed to cure diseases
such as diabetic. The present of antidiabetic activity empirically enabling antioxidant activity. Therefore it is necessary to prove scientifically related antioxidant activity of the leaf and other parts of ebony (fruit and sawdust). The research method includes the extraction maceration by ethanol solvent. The three extracts then tested for their antioxidant activity using the DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2- picrylhydrazil) method to determination the IC50 value. Last done identification of compounds contained in the extract using TLC method by sparying DPPH reagent and chemical compounds. The result showed that the IC50 values obtained of ascorbic acid, leaf extract, fruit extract and eboni sawdust seaquins repectively 20,91 μg/ml, 21,37 μg/ml, 21,55 μg/ml and 21,15 μg/ml. The result of TLC test showed the compounds that act as antioxidant is phenolic in leaf and fruit and steroid on ebony sawdust extract. In conclusion of this study, ebony extract has the potential to be developed as an antioxidant.
