Important Information. Traffic safety

Travelling on today's roads requires the driver's full attention at all times.

WARNING
Before starting the trip, you should familiarise yourself with the different
radio functions.
The features of modern car radios are more complete and demanding,
because besides a wide choice of entertainment, they also offer information
relating to traffic and road conditions, etc.
Only operate the radio and explore its many functions when the traffic situ-
ation really permits this.

Traffic safety

• Excessive volume may represent a danger to you and to others.
• Adjust the volume so that you can distinguish surrounding noises, for
example, horns, sirens, etc.
• Radio settings should be made when the car is stopped, or by a
passenger.

Coding
If, while the code is activated (see chapter “PROG-System“), the car radio is
disconnected from the battery (for example: when replacing the battery at the
workshop) the apparatus will be blocked electronically.
Only the introduction of the correct code number will unlock the radio.

WARNING
• The equipment will turn on automatically when a CD is inserted.
• At the same time the antenna will be extended.

The documentation of your car radio

This documentation contains the model, the serial number and the security
code.
The serial number is identical to the number engraved on the side of the
equipment chassis.
The radio card certifies ownership of the equipment, helps the police search
in case of loss, and accelerates the handling of the claim by the insurance
company.
Remove the card from the radio and keep it in a safe place. Never leave it in
the car.

stored in the memory. See chapter “PROG-System” (car radio muting).

Press the button BASS until the confirmation signal is heard.
Finish settings:
When the level has been adjusted to the desired value, briefly press the key
“ BASS ” again or wait approximately 3 seconds until it comes out
automatically.

Press the button TREB briefly. “TREB xx” appears on the display. The adjust-
ment is made using the main control A A between the values “TREB –7” ...
“TREB 00” ... “TREB +7”.
Automatic return to mid-point value (TREB 00):
Press the button TREB until the confirmation signal is heard.
Finish settings:
When the level has been adjusted to the desired value, briefly press the key
TREB again or wait approximately 3 seconds until it comes out
automatically.

Balance BAL When the balance has been adjusted to the desired value, briefly press the
key BAL again or wait approximately 3 seconds until it comes out of the func-
tion automatically.

Fader FAD
Shifts the sound to the front or rear speakers.
Start settings
Press the button FAD briefly.
“FAD xxx” appears on the display.

Recalling stored values
Press one of the buttons BAL , TREB , FAD or BASS and then the station
button number 6 . “LINEAR” appears on the display.
All the settings are returned to the average values.

In the event of high temperatures and/or large volumes, the protection circuit

During this phase, to discharge the amplifiers, the final stages of the
speakers are disconnected.
Using the station buttons 1 ... 5 it is possible to store different tone and
left/right or front/rear sound distribution settings.
When you select the button where a sound setting has been stored, playback
is made using the values stored there.
Settings and storing
Set the bass, treble, balance and fader as described above. While still in one
of these settings, hold down the station button (for example 1) where you
wish to store these settings, until the confirmation signal is received.
“SOUND 1” appears on the display.
The new settings are stored.
Recalling stored values
Press one of the buttons BAL , TREB , FAD or BASS and then the station
button where the settings you wish to recall are stored (for example, 3).

If, in addition, you press the button TP only RDS programmes which broad-
cast traffic messages will be tuned in.

Select the desired RDS memory bank, 1 or 2, by briefly pressing the button
RDS .

Press the button SCAN until the confirmation signal is heard.

“AS” is displayed and the frequency indicator is changing.
On completion, you will hear the programme with the best reception.
The 6 stations with the best reception in the range selected are automatically
stored in the station buttons 1-6.

Autostore in FM range
Select the desired FM memory bank, 1 or 2, by briefly pressing the button
“ BAND ”.

Alternative Frequency selection (AF)

RDS FM radio stations can transmit their signal at different frequencies. Your
radio automatically chooses the strongest signal for the selected station. If
you are driving through an area with bad coverage, each automatic re-tune
will result in short breaks in the audio. In order to avoid this, turn the AF func-
tion off.

Control of the iPod® through the sound
system
Music playback through the sound system
Once the iPod® is attached to the connector, the sound
system detects it as CD changer.
Control is through the sound system controls. The iPod® is used like a CD
changer. Choosing and playing songs, fast forward and rewind and random
playback are described in the radio or navigation system manual of your
vehicle.

Playing songs from the playlists

Songs can be stored in playlists on the iPod®. The playlists are ordered by
number and alphabetically in the iPod ® hard disk.

The first five playlists stored on your iPod ® can be chosen directly by using
the function keys 1 to 5 on the sound system. The existing playlists will be
assigned by numerical / alphabetical order to the keys 1 to 5 . If, for
example, the function key 2 of the sound system is pressed, the songs on
the second playlist will be played. If an empty or non-existant playlist is
selected, the next playlist will be selected.
To make use of the playlists in the vehicle as easy as possible, we recommend
editing a maximum of five playlists in the iPod®. If you want to play songs
from a playlist that cannot be selected directly by the function keys 1 to 5 ,
we recommend renaming the list using the “iTunes” computer programme so
that it is among the first six on the iPod ® hard disk.
Remember that some versions of iTunes contain predetermined playlists (on-
the-go, my favourites). These folders also count in the total of six that the
vehicle sound system can play. Ensure that they are ordered and arranged
conveniently.
Pressing the key 6 will enable all the songs on the iPod to be played.

• If many songs are skipped, there may be a delay during playback. THe
duration will depend on, among other things, the type of iPod® used.
• Depending on the sound system, when changing a playlist, a song from
the previous list may be played. This is a system function and not an error.
• The information stored on the iPod® such as artist, title, album, music
type is not processed by the iPod® adaptor. Songs cannot be selected
according to these search criteria, and no indication is given on the sound
system panel.
• The “repetition” is automatically activated when turning the iPod® on in
the adaptor. When playback reaches the end of a playlist, it will start again at
the beginning.
• If the iPod® has the “random” function activated when attached to the
adaptor, it will also be selected in the sound system and can be disactivated
by pressing the key MIX or trnd (depending on the sound system) twice.
The numbers of the titles on the sound system screen are counted accord-
ingly.

• When turning off or restarting the engine the iPod ® will continue where

of the playlist. This will remain until the playlist is changed

To guarantee optimum performance your vehicle should have an RCD series Caution
SEAT radio or an RNS series SEAT navigator. Never store vital data in the memory stick or MP3 player SEAT will not accept
any responsibility for data or files that are corrupted or lost.
If your vehicle uses other brands we cannot guarantee their performance.

A title with three figures will not show the hundreds on the screen, only the
last two.
The music can be controlled via the radio keys. Choosing and playing songs,
fast forward and rewind and random playback are described in the radio
manual of your vehicle.
If there are folders in the root directory individual files will not be played, so
all data in the root directory should be in folders.
Storing files in a memory stick or MP3 player
Store files in folders instead of using the root directory of the memory stick or
player. In this way the songs can be stored in order (eg all the songs in a
certain style in the same folder).
The function keys CD 1 to CD 6 of the radio can only select the first 5 folders.
If there are more than 6 folders in the memory stick or MP3 player their
content cannot be played.
The folders can be subdivided into subfolders eg different albums by an
artist.
Example of a music folder structure:

Connect the memory stick or MP3 player with the USB extension cable to the
USB port.
The screen will show the first 6 folders detected by the USB port, displayed as
CD 1 to CD 6. Folders without music files will not be included.
If there are more than 6 music folders in the device, the exact number of
folders can be shown using the CD options.
If the music files are not classified into folders, but stored directly in the root
directory, the radio will read the files and play them in the same order. The
display then shows CD 1.
Music files and folders will be played in alphabetical order, so files begin-
niing woth numbers will be selected first, before those with letters. A file with
the name 1XXXXXXXX will be played before another with the name AAAAAA.
Screen indications
When selecting a music file with the CD keys, it appears iin the radio equip-
ment screen Track 1.
As many as 99 tracks can be shown.
WARNING
Please keep your attention on driving as a priority!
• Adjust the volume so that external noise can be heard at all times, such
as police, fire and emergency services sirens.
• Never remove the memory stick or MP3 player when driving.
Note
• Before turning off the engine, the USB port memorises the position of the
song playing As long as the content is not changed, the system will start
again from this point.
• If many songs are skipped, there may be a delay during playback.
• The detection of the memory stick or MP3 playere requires a few seconds
depending on the type of memory used.
• The title of the song is not shown on the screen.

A CD-R/CD-RW to which a new session has been added may be played.

What are MP3 files?
MP3 (MPEG 1 Audio Layer-3) is a standardised technology and format for the
compression of sound sequences. The sound file is compressed to about
1/10th of its original size. Sounds that are out of the human hearing range
are excluded while those that are within the range are compressed.
Supported recording formats
It will be possible to play MP3 files recorded on CD-ROMs, CD-Rs and CD-RWs.
The unit supports discs that have been formatted using the ISO 9660
standard level 1 or 2. The unit will also play discs recorded using the Romeo
or Joliet standard and other formats conforming to ISO 9660.
The unit will not play CDs recorded using “packet writing” (UDF or Direct CD
formats) whether this has been used on the entire disc or within a session. In
this case the display will read “CD ERROR” and eject the CD.
It is possible to use a re-writable CD with Multi-session.
ISO 9660 format
This is the most common of international standards for the format logic of
files and folders on a CD-ROM.
There are different levels of specification. For level 1, the names must be capi-
talized in 8.3 format (8 characters maximum for the name of the file + 3 char-
acters for the extension “.MP3”). Folder names cannot be more than 8 letters
long. No more than 8 levels of sub-folders are possible. However, Level 2
specifications allow up to 31 characters.

mation on each recorded CD is contained within an area marked by two data

session 1 and information (MP3) in session 2.
Mixed CD: this format records information (MP3) in session 1 and audio

ID3 field data

The ID3 data of an MP3 file contains information on the Artist, Album and the
name of the piece.
This unit can display the information from the ID3 data field, versions 1 and
2, to a maximum of 30 characters in total. For those characters that are not
supported a “*” will be displayed instead.

• With other formats that are not ISO 9669 level 1 or 2, the names of the
files and folders may not be displayed correctly.
• When a name is given to an MP3 file, it must also contain the extension
“.MP3”.
• If the extension “.MP3” is given to a file that is not an MP3 file then the
unit will not be able to recognise the file and may produce a disturbing sound.
• The following types of disc will take some time to begin playing:

For easier handling, the car radio is equipped with the PROG system.
This allows the user to programme a series of settings which are necessary
only once or very occasionally.
1. Activating PROG system
Press button PTY until the sound signal is heard and “PROGRAM” is
displayed briefly.
Next, the radio automatically switches to the last selected function. While the
PROG system is searching, a “P” is displayed.
2. Select the different functions in the PROG system
Press ‚ or b until the abbreviation of the desired function is displayed. For
example: “BEEP ON”.
3. Changing the setting of this function
Briefly press button PTY ; “BEEP ON” flashes.
Press ‚ or b ; the display changes to “BEEP OFF”.

Entering the code electronically prevents the apparatus from being switched
on again without your knowledge when removed.

Should the code be forgotten or lost (Radio Card), only an authorised official
dealer -having checked the ownership of the car radio- is able to restart the
apparatus.

Radio Data System (RDS) tuned RDS programme broadcasts another RDS programme with traffic
messages.
The device for broadcasting traffic messages on RDS programmes with EON
works when “TP” is activated on the display and you are listening to the tuned
RDS programme. Activate /Deactivate TP by pressing the button TP .

Conditions for radio reception

The reception conditions are continually changing during the journey. Moun-
tains, buildings or bridges may obstruct reception. This is particularly true
when at some distance from the broadcasting station.

The RDS is an information system whose signals are broadcast by many

stations, in addition to the radio programmes on FM.
Program Service
On RDS programmes, the name of the station is shown on the display, for
example, Flash FM at 105.7 of the dial.
Remember that RDS programmes may have different regional programmes
and different station names.
Enhanced Other Network (EON)
This function allows you to listen to traffic messages in the RDS 1 and 2
ranges, even when an RDS programme has been tuned without its own
service of traffic messages. Assuming that the radio station broadcasting the

As exigências do trânsito actual requerem a total atenção dos utentes da via
pública.

ATENÇÃO!
Antes de iniciar a viagem, lembre-se que é fundamental conhecer as dife-
rentes funções do rádio.
Os detalhes de equipamento diversos e exigentes dos auto-rádios modernos
oferecem, para além de uma vasta gama de possibilidades de entreteni-
mento, informações variadas sobre situações de tráfego, estado das
estradas, etc.
Todavia, as muitas possibilidades postas à disposição pelo equipamento de
rádio só deveriam ser utilizadas quando a situação de tráfego o permita.

Segurança do tráfego

ATENÇÃO!
• Conheça o funcionamento do seu aparelho antes de iniciar a viagem.
• Um volume elevado pode representar um perigo para si e para os
outros.
• Regule o volume de modo a poder distinguir os outros ruídos, como, por
exemplo, buzinas, sirenes, etc.
• Os ajustes do auto-rádio deveriam ser feitos com o veículo parado, ou
pelo acompanhante.

Codificação
Se o código estiver activado (ver capítulo "PROG-System") e se retirar a
bateria (por exemplo, na sua substituição), o rádio fica bloqueado electroni-
camente.
Só poderá ligá-lo novamente se introduzir o número de código.

ATENÇÃO!
• O aparelho liga-se automaticamente quando se introduz um CD.
• A antena eleva-se simultaneamente.

A documentação do seu auto-rádio

Contém o modelo, o número de série e o número de código para a sua codi-
ficação.
O número de série é idêntico ao número gravado na lateral do chassis do
aparelho.
A etiqueta do rádio certifica a propriedade do aparelho, facilita a busca da
polícia em caso de perda do aparelho e acelera o processo de indemnização
com a companhia de seguros.
Retire a etiqueta do rádio e guarde-a num local seguro. Nunca a deixe no
automóvel.

mento podem ajustar-se os valores dos tons, fader e balanço. Os valores alte-
rados ficam guardados na memória. Ver o capítulo «PROG-System» (silenciar

Frequências alternativas (AF)

Um emissora FM com RDS pode ser retransmitida em diferentes frequências.
O rádio passa automaticamente para a frequência alternativa com melhor
recepção. Caso se encontre numa zona de fraca recepção, as tentativas de
troca de frequência podem provocar breves pausas no som. Para evitá-lo, é
possível desactivar a função AF.

Reproduzir ficheiros de música através do sistema de som
Uma vez introduzido o iPod® no conector, o sistema de som
detecta-o como carregador de CDs.
A utilização será feita através dos comandos do sistema de som. O iPod®
será utilizado de forma semelhante ao carregador de CDs. A selecção e repro-
dução de músicas, o avanço e retrocesso e a reprodução aleatória são
descritas no manual do rádio ou do sistema de navegação do seu veículo.
Reproduzir as músicas das listas de reprodução
No iPod® as músicas podem ser armazenadas em listas de reprodução. As
listas de reprodução são ordenadas alfanumericamente no disco duro do
iPod®.
Pode seleccionar directamente uma das cinco primeiras listas de reprodução
armazenadas no seu iPod® mediante as teclas de função 1 até 5 do
sistema de som. As listas de reprodução existentes são atribuídas por ordem
alfanumérica às teclas 1 até 5 . Se premir, por exemplo, a tecla de função
2 do sistema de som, reproduzem-se as músicas da segunda lista. Se selec-
cionar uma lista de reprodução vazia ou inexistente, a reprodução continuará
com a lista de reprodução seguinte disponível.
Para facilitar a utilização das listas de reprodução no veículo, aconselhamos
a editar até um máximo de 5 listas de reprodução no iPod®. Se desejar repro-
duzir músicas de uma lista de reprodução que não se pode seleccionar direc-
tamente mediante as teclas de função 1 até 5 , recomendamos que volte a
atribuir o nome à referida lista mediante o programa informático «iTunes»
num computador, de forma a que figure entre as seis primeiras no disco duro
do iPod.
Tenha em conta que, em algumas versões do ¡Tunes, aparecem listas de
reprodução pre-determinadas (on-the-go, minhas favoritas,..). Estas pastas
também serão no total 6 que podem ser reproduzidas no sistema de som do
veículo. Certifique-se que as ordena e/ou edita segundo as suas preferên-
cias.
Ao premir a tecla 6 poderá reproduzir a totalidade das músicas armaze-
nadas no iPod.
Consulte o manual de instruções do fabricante do iPod® para saber como
seleccionar e armazenar músicas, bem como para criar listas de reprodução.
Reproduzir todas as músicas armazenadas
Se premir a tecla de função CD 6 do sistema de som, serão reproduzidas
todas as músicas armazenadas no iPod®.
Seleccionar as músicas manualmente através do iPod®
Com o iPod® pode também seleccionar músicas directamente. Seleccione a
música no iPod® e introduza-o no conector. O sistema de som reproduz a
música seleccionada.
Ao terminar a música, serão reproduzidas as músicas restantes armazenadas
na agrupação do iPod® (por autor, género, álbum, lista de reprodução,....)

os sinais acústicos externos, como sirenes da policia ou das ambulâncias.

A duração da mesma dependerá, entre outros factores, do tipo de iPod® que

• Em função do sistema de som, ao mudar a lista de reprodução poderá
ouvir uma música da lista de reprodução anterior. Esta função depende do
sistema e não se trata de uma avaria.
• A informação armazenada no iPod® como, por exemplo, intérprete, título,
álbum e tipo de música não é processada pelo adaptador do iPod®; não é
possível seleccionar músicas através destes critérios de busca ou selecção,
bem como não é apresentada qualquer tipo de indicação no ecrã do sistema
de som.
• A «repetição» é activada automaticamente ao ligar o iPod® ao adaptador.
No final da lista de reprodução, volta a repetir-se desde o início.
• Se ao introduzir o iPod® no adaptador estiver activada a função «título
aleatório», também o estará ao reproduzir-se através do sistema de som e se
poderá desactivar premindo a tecla MIX ou trnd (consoante do sistema de
som) duas vezes. Os números dos títulos que aparecem no ecrã do sistema
de som são contados correlativamente.
• O salto de música é possível em alguns sistemas de som até à música
número 99 com um botão giratório. Os títulos com números maiores têm que
ser seleccionados com as teclas. Ao seleccionar um título com um número de
três algarismos, o das centenas não será apresentado no ecrã.
• Ao desligar e voltar a ligar a ignição ou o sistema de som, a reprodução
do iPod® continuará no ponto em que foi interrompida. Nesse caso, no ecrã
do sistema de som aparecerá sempre CD 6, independentemente da lista de
reprodução. Esta indicação permanece até que mude a lista de reprodução.

• Não ligue directamente o leitor de MP3 à porta USB, pois poderá danificá-
lo. Utilize sempre um cabo USB.
• Não desligue nunca o dispositivo enquanto estiver seleccionada a porta
USB como fonte (CD). O dispositivo poderá ficar danificado.
• Na porta USB só poderá ligar um cartão de memória ou um leitor de MP3.
Não é possível ligar discos rígidos , hubs USB, etc. a esta porta.
• O consumo máximo de potência do cartão de memória ou do leitor de
MP3 não deve exceder os 2,5 volts (500 mA / 5 V).
• Não introduza nunca objectos metálicos na porta USB, pois poderá
provocar um curto-circuito.
Nota
• O cartão de memória, o leitor de MP3 ou o cabo USB não fazem parte do
equipamento de série do veículo.
• Se a porta USB não detectar o dispositivo de armazenamento passados
15 segundos, desligue-o e volte a ligá-lo novamente.
• Em alguns casos terá que activar o leitor de MP3 com uma tecla para esta-
belecer a ligação com a porta USB. Para isso, consulte as instruções do seu
leitor de MP3.

Dispositivos de armazenamento e equipamentos de rádio homologados

Caso contrário, não se pode garantir o bom funcionamento dos mesmos. O
dispositivo deve ter pelo menos um dos dois certificados USB .

Podem apresentar-se até 99 pistas, mas podem reproduzir-se todas as que
existam na pasta.
Ao seleccionar um título com um número de 3 algarismos, as centenas não
serão apresentadas no ecrã, e somente os dois últimos algarismos.
A música se pode administrar com as teclas do rádio. A selecção e repro-
dução de músicas, o avanço e retrocesso e a reprodução aleatória são
descritas no manual do rádio do seu veículo.
Caso haja pastas no directório raíz, não serão reproduzidos os ficheiros
soltos, pelo que se aconselha a ter a informação no directório raíz dentro de
pastas.
Armazenamento de ficheiros num cartão de memória ou num leitor de MP3
Recomenda-se o armazenamento em pastas para memoriza-las directamente
no directorio raíz de memória ou num leitor. Desta forma, poderá guardar as
músicas de forma ordenada (p. ex., agrupando todas as músicas do mesmo
estilo musical num pasta).
Com as teclas de função CD 1 até CD 6 do rádio, pode seleccionar apenas
as 6 primeiras pastas.
Caso tenha mais de 6 pastas no cartão de memória ou no leitor de MP3, o seu
conteúdo não poderá ser reproduzido.
Poderá então subdividir as pastas noutras para guardar, p. ex., os diferentes
álbuns de um autor.
Exemplo da estrutura de uma pasta de música:

Ligue o cartão de memória ou o leitor de MP3 com um cabo à porta USB .
No ecrã apresentam-se as 6 primeiras pastas detectadas pela porta USB,
representadas como CD 1 até CD 6. Aquelas pastas que não contenham
ficheiros de música não serão consideradas.
Caso tenha menos de 6 pastas de música no seu dispositivo, aparecerá no
ecrã o número de pastas exacto mediante as opções de CD.

Se os ficheiros de música do seu dispositivo não estão classificados por
pastas, caso não estejam armazenados directamente no directório raíz, o
rádio reconhece os ficheiros reproduz-los pela mesma ordem. No ecrã
aparece a indicação CD 1.
Os ficheiros de música e as pastas são reproduzidas por ordem alfabética, ou
seja, os ficheiros que comecem por algarismos terão prioridade relativa-
mente aos que comecem por letras. Um ficheiro com o nome 1 XXXXXX será
reproduzido antes que outro com o nome AAAAAA.
Indicação do mostrador
Quando selecciona uma pasta de música com as teclas de CD, é apresentado
no ecrã do rádio Track 1.
Podem ser apresentadas até um total de 99 pistas.
ATENÇÃO!
Concentre a sua atenção essencialmente na condução.
• Ajustar os volumes, de modo a continuar a ouvir os sinais acústicos do
exterior, como p. ex. sirenes dos bombeiros, dos veículos de salvamento ou
da polícia.
• Não mude nunca o cartão de memória ou leitor de MP3 durante o anda-
mento.
Nota
• Antes de desligar a ignição, a porta USB do seu veículo memoriza a
posição da música que está a ser reproduzida nesse momento. Sempre que
o conteúdo não varie do seu dispositivo, o sistema retoma esse mesmo
ponto, assim que voltar a ligar a ignição.
• Se saltar muitas músicas, a reprodução poderá ser ligeiramente atrasada.
• A detecção do cartão de memória ou do leitor de MP3 requer alguns
segundos em função do tipo de memória utilizada.
• Não é apresentado o título da música no ecrã.

zida com um leitor de CD de áudio. Qualquer CD com uma sessão aberta (não finali-
zada) impedirá que este possa ser reconhecido mostrando-se em display como «CD
ERROR».
O que é um ficheiro MP3?
MP3 (MPEG 1 Audio Layer-3) é uma tecnologia e formato estandardizado de
compressão de sequências de som. O ficheiro é comprimido numa relação de
aproximadamente 1/10 em relação ao seu tamanho original. Os sons fora da
margem de audição humana são omitidos enquanto que os que sim podem
ser escutados são comprimidos.
Formatos de gravação suportados
É possível reproduzir ficheiros MP3 gravados sobre CD-ROMs, CD-Rs e CD-
RWs.
A unidade suporta discos formatados nos formatos ISO 9660 nível 1 ou nível
2. A unidade também pode reproduzir discos gravados em formato Romeo ou
Joliet e outros standards conforme a ISO 9660.
Em nenhum caso a unidade poderá reproduzir CDs gravados com «Packet
writing» (Formatos UDF ou Direct CD) seja na totalidade do CD ou em alguma
sessão. Neste caso o display mostrará «CD ERROR» e repelirá o CD.
É possível utilizar um disco regravável com Multisessão.
Formato ISO 9660
O mais comum dos standards internacionais para a lógica de formato de
ficheiros ou pastas num CD-ROM.
Há vários níveis de especificação. No Nível 1, os nomes devem estar em
formato 8.3 (8 caracteres como máximo para o nome de ficheiro + 3 carac-
teres para a extensão «.MP3») e em maiúsculas. As pastas não podem ter

até um máximo de 30 caracteres em total. Para os caracteres não suportados
será mostrado um «*» no seu lugar.

Para facilitar a utilização, o auto-rádio tem o sistema PROG.
Com este sistema pode fazer uma série de ajustes que não são necessários
muitas vezes ou apenas algumas vezes.
1. Activar o sistema PROG
Premir a tecla PTY até que soe um sinal de confirmação e apareça breve-
mente «PROGRAM» no visor.
Em seguida, o aparelho muda automaticamente a última função seleccio-
nada. Enquanto estiver no sistema PROG, aparecerá sempre um «P» no visor.
2. Seleccionar as diferentes funções do sistema PROG

Radio Data System (RDS) programa RDS sintonizado, emita outro programa RDS que ofereça mensa-
gens de tráfego.
A possibilidade de emitir as mensagens de tráfego em programas RDS com
EON funciona quando está «TP» activado no visor e se ouve o programa RDS
sintonizado. Activar/Desactivar TP premindo a tecla TP Ÿ fig. 53

Condições de recepção do rádio

Durante o andamento, as condições de recepção variam continuamente. Nas
montanhas, edifícios, ou pontes a recepção pode ser dificultada. Isto ocorre
especialmente quando se encontra afastado da emissora.

O RDS é um sistema de informação cujos sinais são emitidos por muitas

emissoras, para além dos programas de rádio em FM.
Program Service
Nos programas RDS vê-se o nome da emissora no visor, por exemplo, Flash
FM no 105.7 do dial.
Tenha em conta que os programas RDS podem ter programações regionais
diferentes e diferentes nomes de emissoras.
Enhanced Other Network (EON)
Esta função permite-lhe ouvir as mensagens de tráfego nas gamas de RDS 1
e 2, mesmo que esteja sintonizado um programa RDS sem serviço próprio de
mensagens de tráfego. Supõem-se que a emissora de rádio que emite o
