To give a recall back to one of the most important events in history, the entire of the violence in Afghanistan is worth paying attention to.

                ooking back to 15 February, on this day, after a decade of
fighting and staying in the country, the Soviet troops finally left
Afghanistan.
         The Soviet war in Afghanistan had been going on for nine years
from December 1979 until February in this year. The war was a part of
the long-lasting Cold War in which the fighting mainly happened
between Soviet-led Afghan forces and multinational insurgent groups.
This war made millions of Afghans to leave their country and migrated
to Pakistan and Iran. For the majority of the civilians who rebelled in the
war, they were mostly killed.
          The first Soviet deployment of the 40th Army in Afghanistan
occupied since December 24. On May 15, 1988, the troop started to
withdraw as a result of the end of the war from the eleventh month ago,
under Mikhail Gorbachev, the last Soviet leader.
         The Afghan government had a treaty made in December 1978 with
the Soviet in which they could call for Soviet forces to support their
troops in Afghanistan during the spring and summer period of 1979.
They asked Soviet troops to protect and help them in the fighting
against the mujahideen rebels. After the long conflict, finally, the Soviet
troops left Afghanistan.

Chinese troops finally entered Tiananmen Square and fired on civilians. The

         After Hu Yaobang, a former Communist Party leader who had worked to
move China to have a more open political system and had become the symbol of
democratic reform died on April 15, 1989, thousands of mourning students
marched through the capital to Tiananmen Square, calling for a more
democratic government on April 15. A few weeks later, thousands of people
joined the students in the square to protest against China's Communist
government.
          Later on, more than 100 students began the strike in Tiananmen Square
that made the number of people to increase for several thousand over the next
few days. Finally, on May 19, approximately 1.2 million people had joined the
rally and General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, Zhao Ziyang,
appeared at the rally and ask the demonstration to end, and soon martial law
was announced. The demonstration still continued.

come,'' General Gromov, a Soviet general and military commander
in Afghanistan and Governor, said to an army rally in Termez,
Reuters reported. ''In spite of our sacrifices and losses, we have

          Unfortunately, although the last troops left Afghanistan, this
is not yet the end of the cold war, and the peace has not yet really
occur in the country.

         Today, at around 1 a.m. Chinese troops entered Tiananmen Square
and throughout the day, Chinese soldiers kept firing on civilians and
students to end the demonstrations. In the end, the official death
number has never been released.
        ''General strike!'' people roared, in bitterness and outrage, as they ran
from Tiananmen Square, which pro-democracy demonstrators had
occupied for three weeks. ''General Strike!'' These were said by the
witness.
         ''As doctors, we often see deaths,'' said a doctor at the Tongren
Hospital. ''But we've never seen such a tragedy like this. Every room in
the hospital is covered with blood. We are terribly short of blood, but
citizens are lining up outside to give blood.'' This is how the death and
wounded was talked about by the doctors after today’s incident.

Hungary proclaimed
itself a republic
Awareness of being pressure under communist for decades, in this
year, it is time for Hungary to rejoice as a Republic country.
          October 24, 1989, Budapest, Hungary. after the country had been
ruled by the communist for 40 years. Finally, the country was about to
change its system to be like the Western-style ruling system or what
commonly called democracy.
          "This is a prelude to a new historical age," acting head of state Matyas
Szuros said, declaring the republic at noon in a speech to tens of thousands
packing Parliament Square in Budapest. "The Hungarian Republic is going
to be an independent, democratic and legal state in which the values of
bourgeois democracy and democratic socialism are expressed equally."
The Communist People's Republic of Hungary is dead, Szuros declared. "As
of today, our nation's name is the Republic of Hungary."
         As Szuros pronounced the words "Republic of Hungary," the crowd
erupted in cheers. Church bells throughout the country peeled at noon
         The agreement of a constitutional state ruled by law took place since
the autumn of 1989, and soon, the Republic of Hungary was proclaimed
themselves as a republic country and changed the name of the country.
With the new reform, the essence of the change of regime is symbolically
expressed as the regaining of the country's sovereignty, and the
replacement of the central plan command management, and the state-
party system with the multi-party democracy as well as the market
economy.
         This tends to be a good sign for the country to continue as Republic
after being suffered under their unwanted communism for decades.
Though the future of the country as the republic country is not promised, over 1200 people in the capital city, Bucharest, were killed.
it is worth it to try as all the dark days has ended.

         December 25th, a lot of insecurity happened in Romania because the
communist regime of Ceausescu was overthrown which resulting in having
        On December 16th, protests occurred in Timisoara and these protesters
were uncontrollable. Then, in the morning of December 21th,  Ceausescu
announced the speech in Bucharest to address the situation while the protest
was happening.
        The streets were full of protesters while Ceausescu fled in the helicopter to

an unknown place. Later on, the television broadcasted that the communist
formed. The protests had gotten worse and more violence.
        On Christmas day, December 25th,  the number of victims was recorded as
1,200 dead and 3,000 wounded. Many communist state police were burnt in an
inexplicable fire to erase the traces that could let the anti-Ceausescu
communists. For this event, Ceausescu was blamed for the violence that finally

led him to be executed. Ceausescu was captured in Targoviste, underwent 2
hours trial and sadly was executed along with his wife.
       “Timisoara! Timisoara!” was widely shout during the time of the protest as
well as the look of disbelief on Ceausescu’s face as he moved his hands in a
hopeless motion to quiet the crow was the significant sign of the end of
European communism
         After his death, the new government is to follow if they will be led by other
communists who had been shaped by Ceausescu whose their rise to power will
be done through the chaos and violence erupted.  
         Looking back to these days this bloody event, it will forever be the
remarkable event of the history the will be recording about the people who
sacrifice to fight for their brighter future again their unwanted government.
