This project aimed to improve patient compliance for orthodontic treatment appointments at the Pasir Puteh Orthodontic Specialist Clinic. A study found that only 56% of patients were compliant, below the standard of at least 75%. The main reasons for non-compliance were patients forgetting appointments and a lack of monitoring attendance. Changes implemented included reminders for patients, disseminating information about treatment, and monitoring attendance. These led to improved compliance of 71%, though continuous monitoring is still needed to achieve and sustain the target standard.

Process of Gathering Information : A cross-sectional study was conducted to identify factors Proses Pengumpulan Maklumat contributing to low compliance for review appointments at Klinik Pergigian Pakar Ortodontik Pasir Puteh. A total of 61 fixed orthodontic patients who missed review appointments after bond up from Jan-July 2016 and All specialist, dental officers and staffs at Klinik Pergigian Pakar Ortodontik Pasir Puteh were involved. Analysis and Interpretation : Patient forget their appointment date and lack of Analisis dan Interpretasi : monitoring patient attendance were the major factors contributing to low percentage (%) of compliance for review appointments at Klinik Pergigian Pakar Ortodontik Pasir Puteh Strategy for Change : Strategies for change include improvement in the Model Strategi Penambahbaikan : of Good Care, creating reminder system to patient, dissemination of knowledge on orthodontic treatment via Social Media (eg: Instagram) and pocket size booklet and monitoring system for the attendance of patients using check list and fixed appliance patient attendance book. Effects of Change : The percentage (%) of compliance for review Kesan Penambahbaikan : appointments at Klinik Pergigian Pakar Ortodontik Pasir Puteh had improved from 56% to 71% The Next Step : Continuous monitoring of remedial measures is needed to Langkah Seterusnya : ensure that the standard is achieved, sustained and improved.
