HYPERPLASIA (BPH) DENGAN RETENSI URIN YANG MENJALANI KATETERISASI DI RSUP NTB M. Ahsanuddin Ansori, Akhada Maulana, Dewi Suryani

ABSTRACT EVALUATION OF THE URINALYSIS RESULT OF URINARY RETENTION RELATED BENIGN PROSTATE HYPERPLASIA (BPH) PATIENT WHOM CATETHERIZED IN RSUP NTB M. Ahsanuddin Ansori, Akhada Maulana, Dewi Suryani
Background: Benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) is an enlargement of the prostate
gland which often found in male, especially in adult and elderly. Most of the patients with BPH suffer urinary retention and catheterization is the first aid for it. Patient with BPH usually shows several abnormalities measurement in their urinalysis. The Aim of this study: To find out the correlation between the duration of catheterization and the enlargement of prostate volume with the urinalysis result of the patient with benign prostate hyperplasia whom catheterized in RSUP NTB. Method: This research is a descriptive study with cross sectional design and retrospective method. The population of this study was BPH patients whom hospitalized between January 1st 2012 – December 31st 2013. The subject of this study was assumed as reached population. The data was taken by documenting patient’s data on medical record and it will be presented on diagram and table and will be analyze with spearman correlation test and coefficient contingency correlation test. Result: From 39 medical records as the subjects, there were 32 patients (82,1%) with positive hematuria, 21 patients (53,8%) with positive bacteriuria, 29 patients (74,9%) with positive leukocyturia, mean prostate volume was 60,42 ml, mean duration of catheterization was 3 days. The data were analyze with spearman correlation test and showed that there were significant correlation between prostate volume enlargement with the incidence of hematuria (p=0,015), however there were no significant correlation between prostate volume enlargement with the incidence of bacteriuria (p=0,271), and there were no significant correlation between how long the catheter was applied with the incidence of bacteriuria (p=0,529). By using coefficient contingency correlation test, revealed that there were significant correlation between the incidence of bacteriuria with the incidence of hematuria (p=0,001). Conclusion: prostate volume enlargement was correlated with the incidence of hematuria (p=0,015) and there were significant correlation between the incidence of bacteriuria with the incidence of hematuria (p=0,001). However, there were no significant correlation between prostate volume enlargement with the incidence of bacteriuria (p=0,271), and there were no significant correlation between duration of catheterization with the incidence of bacteriuria (p=0,529).
