INDIVIDUAL REFLECTIVE RESPONSES

Identify the technical skills required for your project:

My role in this project was the animator of the radio show. Therefore, I had to introduce

the show and welcome all my guests of the day and the subject. The technical skills I had to put

in practice for this assignment was in Audacity. My friend Miguel is really comfortable using

technological platforms and he was in charge of making the final version of our podcast. I helped

my team with Audacity since, during the semester we used this program and now I am very

comfortable with it. I also helped my team with ideas for the final montage of our project.

Describe your creation process – how did you make, create and revise your project?

We got the idea of creating a podcast on hockey since currently Montreal Canadians are

struggling to be in the playoffs. We thought this was a great subject since my teammates are

hockey fans and they had a lot to say about this subject. With this topic, after discussion, we

decided to create a radio show since on the radio, they often have these types of discussions.

Therefore, we created it, with Audacity and then my teammates added music at the beginning and

at the end, in order to make it sound more like a real radio show and a ringing sound when people

call. After all teammates collected all their ideas together and created the final version, we

revised it to make sure everything fitted together.

Describe the potential application of your creative media project for education. How would

you adapt this media project as an educational lesson/activity?

INDIVIDUAL REFLECTIVE RESPONSES

Since I want to be a physical educator, I believe the potential application of creative

media project would be pretty high. I believe technology in physical education classes can be

easy to integrate but for media project in this environment can be quite challenging. The goal of

physical activity is to make sure students have enough physical activity per week and day. If a

teacher introduce a media project, make sure students are still active while creating the project.

For example, in a basketball class, you could ask students to film theirselves demonstrating

different skills they have learn.

What were the main challenges you faced during the production of this product?

The main challenge of this project was the creation when we actually recorded our show. I

have a tendency to laugh or mix up my words and I did not want to loose my friends’ time. They

wanted to record the radio show in a onetime shot, which for me is really not easy. Therefore, in

the production of this product, this was the main challenge for me. Although it really was not

easy, I succeeded.

What did you learn?

In this project I learned different aspects. Firstly, it was my first time recording a radio

show on a subject that was not my idea. I learned how to deal with a subject I was not familiar

and I also learned how to deal with my friends since sometimes we were arguing. In a more

technological aspect, I learned from my friends, how to add music and sounds in a recording in

Audacity. Lastly, I learned the process of a digital media project and how to create this kind of

assignment.
