MATERIALS 1. Cut a 4m/4.4yrds long black diagonal stripe into

3cm/1.2” wide and iron at half mark.
» 1.2m/47.3“ linen fabric 2. Cut a 60cm/24” stripe of black fabric with the grain,
» 0.5m firm white cotton 2cm/0.8” wide.
» Some leftover back fab- 3. Sew pocket flaps gathering piping.

4. Sew one black stripe of 30cm/12” to each of the lines
» 1.2m/47.3“ lining fabric
marked.
» Interfacing
5. Turn and iron and sew up by hand.
» 3 buttons
6. Finnish flap pockets.
7. Sew on white facing above pockets.
8. Sew darts on back panel.
9. Sew belt (one strip of 10x53cm/4x21” each in beige and
white).
10. Sew strips together to form a tube, turn and iron so
one side is white and one beige.
11. Baste belt to side edges 10cm/4“ from the lower edge.
12. Close side and shoulder seams.
13. Iron interfacing to half of the front panels.
14. Sew black piping to front edge.

15. Turn over front edge with white

facing, cut seam allowance, iron.
16. Turn over upper and lower collar
and sew to neckline.
17. Sew upper and lower sleeve
together gathering piping on each
side.
18. Attach sleeves, iron to separate
seams.
19. Set piping button holes.
20. Sew jacket lining.
21. Sew lining to jacket.
22. Sew on buttons.
