cartoon!
Create a political cartoon about the Great Migration, the Rebellions of 1837-1838 or the
Act of Union! Our cartoons must have the 5 features of a political cartoon, these features include
symbolism, exaggeration, labeling, analogy and irony. Remember, the purpose of a political
cartoon is to argue a point and showcase a specific perspective! Through out this unit we have
looked extensively at political cartoons and I encourage you to use your guides, and the video
posted on the classroom website as your tools to complete the assignment. This is an independent
project and we will have 3 consecutive 40-minute work-based class periods. Always remember
to use your time wisely, if you do not complete the assignment during class time it is expected
that you complete the assignment at home. Additional help times will be held during after school
tutoring times on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
