ALTERNATIVE LEARNING ACTIVITIES

A VISIT TO LOCAL TOURIST DESTINATIONS

The alternative learning activity is set to comply by the students who are currently enrolled in the
subject HRM121- Domestic and International Tour, but not joining the DOMESTIC EXPOSURE during the
2nd Semester, SY 2018-2019.

Below are the objectives while conducting the alternative learning activities:

1. Expose the students to local tourist destinations and provide related and important information
about the tourist spots.
2. Develop camaraderie with the locals of the destinations in performing ALA.
3. Realize the importance of hospitality service in local tourist destinations
4. Inculcate to students the core values of the University such as Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork,
Innovation and Social Responsibility in compliance with the requirements for the ALA.

Through this alternative learning activities, the students are expected to do the following:

1. An individual-Output ALA
2. Visit Local Tourist Destinations upon the approval of the faculty adviser.
3. Inquire important details/information about the chosen Local Tourist Destinations such as:
a. History/Background of the Tourist Destinations
b. Geographical Structure/Location of the Tourist Destinations
c. Types of Tourist Destinations in terms of Attractions
d. Characteristics of Tourist Destinations in terms of
d.1 Accessibility
d.2 Accommodation
d.3 Attractions
d.4 Amenities
e. Compare and contrast in different attractions in terms of tourist arrival, facilities, cost,
transportation
4. Take picture / documentations as evidence of visit to Resort/Hotel of the following:
a. Local People
b. Tourist Attractions
c. Local Tour Guide (at least 2)
d. Amenities
e. Itinerary
f. Transportation Services
g. Accommodation
5. Conduct Interview from the following personnel:
a. At least 2 Tour Guides
b. At least 5 Local Tourists
c. At least 2 Foreign Tourists
1. Problems and Issues Encountered by the Tour Guides, Local Tourists and Foreign
Tourists
2. Access to the Destinations
3. Most Unforgetable Experience during the Tour Among the Local and Foreign Tourists

 Put page nos on the right hand corner of the paper
 3ringbind copies (color orange)
 Present your output on May 2019
 Follow the format/requirements
