IOT based Smart electronic Trolley for super

markets with smart payment

Abstract:

The main aim of the project is to design a Smart Trolley which is capable of automatically
identify and Calculating the amount of products inserted into the trolley and also have the payment
option at the trolley using RFID Technology .This Trolley connected with the IOT , so that trolley can
update the status to user and merchant using web application / android application.
The project mainly aims in designing a trolley in shopping mall which automatically
calculates the total amount for goods which we select and finally have option to pay money at the
trolley using RFID smart card.
Automation is the most frequently spelled term in the field of electronics. The hunger for
automation brought many revolutions in the existing technologies. One among the technologies
which had greater developments is RF communications. The result of this is the RFID cards which
transmit a unique identification number. This number transmitted by the RFID can be read with the
help of a RFID reader.
This onboard computer consists of number of input and output ports. The onboard
computer is commonly termed as micro controller. The input and output ports of the controller are
interfaced with different input and output modules depending on the requirements. In other words
micro controller acts as a communication medium for all the modules involved in the project. The
device also consists of LCD which displays the information about the status of gate open and close.

Features:
1. IOT Based Automatic Updating to the User.
2. Real time authentication system
3. RFID based Product Identification.
4. Displaying status on LCD.
5. WEB /Android Application based Monitoring.
6. RFID Card based payment opotion.
7. Reliable and accurate system.

Existing System:
Nowadays, consumers in supermarket chains experience problems with queues and price tags.
The first aspect affects customers’ time and stress level.
Another aspect is the lack of price tags which confuses customers.
One of the time spending parts of an ordinary life is counted to be shopping, including groceries.
The average time that is spent in the store, not counting time to get to and from is little more than 40
minutes.
Hence, in searching for saving time most of the consumers started shopping digitally, which means not
only shopping online, but people started to use more of the technical gadgets.
To sum up the gathered information above it is clearly seen that shopping firstly takes a lot of time, and,
secondly, customers would like to facilitate this process.
Disadvantages:
Present situation consumes a lot amount of time.
Customer has to wait for a long time to pay the bill.
As the time increases the customer’s stress level increases.

Proposed System:
One of the most possible solutions to this problem is to use technology.
Our project is one of these solutions - smart cart, based on RFID system in cooperation with Arduino
processing.
The smart cart makes possible to reduce the time of the shopping and makes it less "annoying" and
"irritating".
This cart allows customers to recognize prices of products and count the total price of obtained goods.
The price of a product may be achieved through the scanning module.
When the product is scanned, its price is added to the shopping list and the total cost.
In case if a product is no longer needed or was picked by negligence its cost may be subtracted from the
total cost.
To do so, the special button should be pressed to engage the following mode.
Afterwards, the deleting procedure is the same as the adding procedure.
Advantages:
In this we are using smart cards to overcome the present scenario.
More amount of time is saved for the customer.
It is easy to find the price of a product by scanning it.
