GENERAL TRAINING INFORMATION


Title of the training Proposal For Dasmariñas East Integrated High School’s In-Service
Seminar On Gender And Development with the Theme “ We Make
Change Work For Women”
Target Participants and Participants to this activity are the teaching and nonteaching
Number of Participants personnel of Dasmariñas East Integrated High School composed of
one hundred ninety nine (199), 166 Junior High School; 44 male and
122 female and 33 Senior High School; 10 male and 23 female.
Proposed Date and Venue The DEIHS’s School’s In-Service Seminar On Gender And
Development will be held on October 22, 2018 at Tubigan Resort,
Paliparan, Dasmariñas City, Cavite
Funding Source Expenses shall be charged to the GAD Fun of School MOOE subject
to usual accounting and auditing rules and regulation
Proposed Budget Proposed Budget for this activity is one hundred sixty nine thousand
two hundred pesos only (Php. 169,200.00), which covers
honorarium for the guest speaker, food, certificates, use of
conference room, sound system, GAD T-shirt and plaque.
Registration Fee No registration fee shall be collected from the participants.

Rationale Cognizant to E.O #23 entitled Approving and Adopting the Philippine
Plan for Gender- Responsive Development, 1995-2025, that direct
all agencies to institutionalize gender and development (GAD)
activities in government, Republic Act No. 9344 An Act Establishing
A Comprehensive Juvenile Justice And Welfare System, Creating The
Juvenile Justice And Welfare Council Under The Department Of
Justice, Appropriating Funds Therefor And For Other Purposes.
DepEd Order No. 40, s. 2012 Child Protection Policy.
Training Objective This activity aims to:
1. Promote a zero-tolerance for any act of child abuse,
exploitation, violence, discrimination, bullying and other
related offenses;
2. Increase teacher’s awareness and understanding of
different type of aggression, risk factors, role of classroom
teacher, and influence of the school climate on the child’s
behavior; and
3. Identify and prevent common occupational disorders/health
problems among teachers.

Methodologies
Expected Outcomes At the end of the one day seminar and capacity building activity the
participants:
(1) Promote and developed zero-tolerance for any act of child
abuse ;
(2) Capacitate teachers with awareness and understanding in
handling children’s behavior especially those who are in
conflict with the law and children at risk ; and
(3) Increase teacher’s knowledge on preventing common
occupational disorders.
Management Level of A school wide activity that involve 199 teachers and non-teaching
Training personnel.
Delivery Mode This training will use both face-to-face and 4a’s approach

WAYS TO PREVENT HEALTH PROBLEMS AMONG TEACHERS

Objectives:

1. to identify common health problems among male and female teacher.


2. to increase awareness on preventing health problems among teachers.
3. to identify intervention to avoid/deal with physical and mental health problems among teachers.

Preparation/s Needed

Before the session starts, prepare the necessary materials for the activities.

Time Allotted

3 hours (180 minutes)

1. Activity (35 minutes)

a. Participants will be group to 10 groups. All groups will be given metacards, participants will going to
identify/write five (10) common health problems among male and female teachers (5minutes).
b. All 10 groups of participants will arrange teacher’s health problems from rank 1 to 10, 1as the highest
and 10 as the lowest, paste in a manila paper and will post on the board (30 minutes).

ANALYSIS:

1. What are the legal basis for teacher’s health care?


2. How will teacher cope with physical and mental health problems?

ABSTRACTION:

After the introductory activity, transition to the discussion of the module using the powerpoint presentations. This
module covers the following topics:

1. Republic Act No. 4670 or Magna Carta for Public School Teachers Article IV sec. 22-23 Health Measures and
Injury Benefits
2. Republic Act No. 9710 or Magna Carta for Women section 17 Women’s Right to Health
3. Identify the common health problems among male and female teachers? Physically? Mentally?
4. What are the interventions to avoid/deal with teacher’s physical and mental health problems?
5. Enumerate the prevention tips to avoid health problems among teachers.

APPLICATION:

There is an urgent need to address our nation’s teacher crisis. Teachers have a critical role in children’s lives
and teaching has become one of the most stressful occupations, with alarmingly high rates of job dissatisfaction and
turnover. This escalating crisis is affecting students’ educational outcomes, impacting teachers’ health.

WAYS TO DEAL STUDENT WITH CONFLICT OF THE LAW AND CHILDREN AT RISK

Objectives:

1. to promote and protect the rights and interest of children as zones of peace in situations of armed
conflict, but who are alleged to be in conflict with the law.
2. to increase teacher awareness of different types of aggression, risk factors, role of the classroom
teacher, and influence of the school climate on the child's behavior;
3. to improve teacher management skills to reduce power struggles and aggression
4. to enhance skills to assist students who are the targets of aggression.

2. Activity (25 minutes)

c. Participants will be group to 10 groups. All groups will be given metacards, participants will going to
identify/write five (5) common juvenile delinquent act of children (5 minutes)
d. All 10 groups of participants will arrange the juvenile act from rank 1 to 5, 1as the highest and 5 as the
lowest, paste in a manila paper and will post on the board (20 minutes).

ANALYSIS:

1. Beyond Juvenile delinquency, why children break laws?


2. What are the roles and responsibilities of teachers in dealing/handling cases of children at risk and children in
conflict with the law?
