The 10 Golden Rules of Life

Ethics, the development of dealing with what is good and bad using moral duties

and obligations. Justice, the moral action made in a situation to create a fair, reasonable,

and just outcome. With this being said, ethics and justices are tied to each other due to

the simple fact that both ethics and justices use moral duties and obligations for a just and

humane outcome of any situation. These 10 Golden Rules of Life to be talked about use

the ethical framework of virtue as most to not all of these rules aim to develop one’s

character whom one wants to be seen as.

To start with, rules number one, four, six, eight, nine and ten all deal with not

harming others. Rule number one, “Do no harm”, is the base of these first set of rules

as rule number one is straight forward on how one should never harm anyone or

anything whether it is emotionally, physically, or mentally. Rule number four, “Don’t

be resentful”. This rule focusing on not holding grudges nor hate towards someone

who has done wrong to one or your loved ones. This rule focuses on not having no one

be seen as an enemy but someone who gave you a learning experience and who

themselves learned from there mistaked and is rejetfull of their immoral actions, this

rule also helping one be the better person and grow towards a peaceful mentality. Rule
six, “Respect all”. This rule focusing on how one treats a person or thing no matter

their race, culture, color, language spoken, religion, etc. As a ethical person one should

treat all with respect as it should not only be done to be seen as a good moral and justice

person but also as its written in the U.S. Equal Rights Amendment and build one of to

success as one build no bounds to assist or assisted by anyone but only to build

connections that can last for life. Rule number eight, “Be honest”. Honesty is key to

success as stated by many and most can agree due to the simple fact of never living in

fear of the lie one told being uncovered. With these rule not only oneself has a mindful

mind but also others around you as all know the truth and only the truth with no hurtful

lies in the way. Rule number nine, “Admit when wrong and apologize”. This rule may

seem easier said than done as most live in our self pride and always want to be right or

be chased down but, if you think ethically are we doing the correct thing? The answer

is no we are not, why? As humans it is hard to admit and own up to our mistakes and

create amends with loved ones or connects but live would be better to see our wrongs as

we can learn from our mistakes and not hurt one another. Treat others as one would

like to be treated apologize and talk about your wrongs after cooling down because

even if you would like to believe it we do get hurt when another does us wrong and

never owns up to it nor apologies. Rule number ten, “Think before acting, writing, or

speaking”. It might be easy to speak our minds especially in anger forgetting whom we

could hurt especially on social media where we post forgetting that we may be targeting

many people and not that one person who we deduct that hurtful speech, post, or act.

Yes, one of our constitutional amendment is freedom of speech but it cost nothing to
use that right in a positive way impacting people in a positive way and not negatively.

All these rules coming together to form the part of not harming others through the

framework of virtue due to all connecting on how not harming anyone or anything

builds ourselves and how others and ourselves look at us. Most of the rules in this

category of not harming anyone or anything really testes how loyal, honest, ethical, etc

we want ourselves to be and how that will be in our conscience.

Furthermore, rules number two and five deal with one's past and roots. Rule

number two, “Never forget your roots”. It might be easy leaving one's history behind

forgetting about traditions, the good and bad not knowing how all that shaped us. Like

Yalitza Aparicio, who achieved something big not forgetting her indigenous roots,

many other actresses and stars take pride from where they came from and don't forget it

by expressing it thought clothing, speeches, etc speaking for their roots and people who

shaped her into who they are. Rule number five, ‘Give back“. Giving back to those in

need or who once helped you when in need build ones heart and showing others and

yourself to be generous and helpful and give back whether it be a penny, a simile,

clothings, etc. Rules number two and five come together forming our past through the

framework of virtue as its all about giving back to our culture and roots and those close

to us. These rules testing our generosity and love for our culture and roots no matter

how good or bad it was just remembering to keep our culture and traditions alive.

The last set of rule being number three and seven which concentrate on the virtue

framework involving one's mindset. Rule number three, “Don’t over think/analyze”.

Our way of thinking is very crucial as to who we are as it categorizes what is important
and what is not also this rule takes part on our future and faith as if we over think we

wouldn't take risks that can have either a positive or negative impact that is a learning

experience. Rule number seven, “See the positive in every situation”. Most or not all

focus on the negative and bad in a situation forgetting about their blessing in the bad.

Like those who meditate have a more peaceful and positive mind because they want to

be and those who are always depressed and it and watch choose to be negative and live

that way. These two rules testing our mentality and soul by hitting the virtue

framework on who and what we want to focus on and see and what kind of person you

want to be this also talking a role on what people you attract towards you and what

energy you surround yourself with.

The development of the 10 Golden Rules of Life by firstly thinking on who i am

and what i would like to work on to live a better and more ethical life. I choose the order

of the rules at random as i know most people don't follow orders and it's fine as doing it

your way always works best to get to a justice and ethical lifestyle. As for revisions for

these rules i gave them to peers especially those whom i don't regularly talk too as i

know my friends would be biest and say “they're good”. Through each and every

revision made i deleted and tweaked my rules do they wouldn't be only about my growth

as a person but also others. I had a difficult time choosing what framework use but once

i decided on the virtue framework it was all clear to me. We as a person take action and

decide what to do and what not to do whether it is for yourself or others we always think

who do we want to be seen and talked as? We as humans really take importance on how

others view ourselves forgetting who we are and thinking what we should be. You
might be thinking but that is false i do the actions i make because i enjoy them and

staffed of them but not really the system made uf think these they brainwashed us in

way. During these time i'm really thinking if the virtue or any framework fits to any of

these rules as they relate and connect to all the frameworks due to our different thinking.

Personally if i lived by these rules life would be a bit more easy due to the fact to

having a better mentality and thinking and owing up to my decisions and knowing that i

am “satisfied” as to who i am and who i have become. If everyone would to live by

these rules the world would be not bets but not worse as what makes the world good is

people's different lifestyles and decision as we have many personalities, cultures, etc.

Having all living under the same rules the world would be boring and dull with no

excitement nor mistakes nor nothing.
