PARKING
Issues with street parking were discussed, Residents are concerned with the inability for emergency vehicles to fit when
vehicles are parked on both sides of the street. Street parkers must be within 18” of the curb and must be parked in the
same direction of driving traffic. The HCSO stated it is illegal to impede the flow of traffic and it is a ticketable offense.
They also stated that emergency responders (fire trucks) would do any means necessary to get down a street, including
pushing cars out of the way with the firetruck or breaking windows if needed. FYI, the fire department or ambulance
cannot be held liable and you may have issues with your own insurance reimbursement.
Because we know the traffic is only going to increase with the addition of the apartment complex, we are looking at
tightening up the HOA by-law language to help enforce this. Your feedback is important. How do you feel about street
parking? Would you be in favor of the HOA having cars towed that are not in compliance? Do you have any
suggestions? Please go to our Facebook page and let us know how you feel.
