CROP SHEAR CONVEYOR SYSTEM

Issue
• Customer was transferring crop shear scraps into a large pit
• The transfer conveyor for the scrap was using a leather belt
and needed to be replaced as often as once per week
• The pit collection was emptied using a magnetic crane
transferring the scrap overtop of existing equipment
• Customer wanted to change direction of the transfer, and
convey out of the building into scrap containers

Solution
• CHL Systems performed an Engineering
Study of the facility, and designed and
fabricated over 125’ of heavy duty conveyors to
transfer the scrap
• The system was integrated with the crop
shear and opened up space over the pit to
install additional equipment

Result
• Conveyor system transfers scrap from the
crop shear out of the building and into scrap
containers
• System is safer and more efficient with greatly
improved reliability
