PENGERTIAN REPORT TEXT

Seringkali, jenis teks ini disamakan dengan Descriptive Text, namun sebenarnya berbeda. Report Text termasuk
ke dalam Description Text yang memiliki fungsi untuk menggambarkan sesuatu baik benda, makhluk hidup
ataupun fenomena umum. Hal inilah yang menjadi perbedaan utama antara Report Text dengan Descriptive
Text. ​Descriptive Text​ menjelaskan fenomena yang lebih khusus. Misalnya, Anda akan membahas sepeda.
Maka dalam Descriptive Text¸ Anda merujuk ke jenis sepeda tertentu seperti sepeda balap yang disertai dengan
ciri khususnya. Sedangkan dalam Report Text, tulisan akan memberi informasi mengenai sepeda secara umum
seperti kekuatan dan fungsinya secara umum.

The sugar glider is a marsupial, just like the many other Australian animals – the kangaroo, the koala and the
wombat for instance. The sugar glider is a possum – very similar to the tupai in Indonesia. It basically lives in
trees. It eats leaves and fruit. However, the Australian sugar glider has a very special skill. It can jump from tree
to tree like a tupai but it can also `sort of fly’ as well. In fact, it glides or terbang layang in Bahasa Indonesia.
When it jumps from one tree to another it spreads its four legs out wide; and its extra skin also spreads out and
functions like a parachute.

menceritakan kembali kejadian atau pengalaman yang terjadi di masa lalu. Teks ini ber tujuan untuk
memberikan informasi dan atau menghibur pembaca yang membaca tulisan ini.

MACAM-MACAM RECOUNT TEXT

Recount text ​memiliki beberapa macam jenis teks yang bisa digunakan untuk Anda menulis. Disesuaikan
dengan tujuan dari tulisan itu sendiri. Macam-macam jenis ​recount text b​ isa dilihat di bawah ini:

Personal recount

Personal recount​ adalah ​recount text​ yang berfungsi menceritakan tentang pengalaman pribadi penulis.

Factual recount

Factual recount​ adalah ​recount text​ yang berfungsi untuk menyajikan laporan peristiwa yang benar-benar
terjadi, seperti laporan percobaan ilmu pengetahuan ataupun laporan kepolisian.

Imaginative

Imaginative ​adalah jenis ​recount text​ yang berfungsi menyajikan sebuah cerita imaginatif. Lalu menuliskan
peristiwa atau kejadian yang telah terjadi.

Last Friday, a friend of mine asked me to accompany him to buy a new shirt at a department store. We left home
at 03.00 p.m. by motorcycle. As soon as we arrived there, we went to the clothes section. I let him choose one.
An hour later, I got bored watching him confused in choosing a shirt. So I left him and went to the cassette
counter. Thirty minutes later, I went back to the clothes section but I couldn’t find him there. My cell phone was
broken so I couldn’t call him. I went to the parking area. I saw his motorcycle was there but I couldn’t find him.
I waited for him for a few moments then finally I gave up and decided to go home.

When I arrived home, my mother told me that my friend called. She said that he was in the department store
looking for me. My mother asked me to come back to the department store. Reluctantly, I walked to the
department store and you know what? When I arrived there his motorcycle was not in the parking area. He just
went home. I was very tired. There was no other choice, I had to walk home again. When I arrived home, I was
so tired. I was very angry but when I saw my friend’s broad smile greet me in front of the door, I just could not
help laughing.

• Verb yang digunakan yaitu attribute verb, seperti be (am, is, are)

Struktur Descriptive Text (Generic Structure)

Identification (identifikasi) adalah pendahuluan, berupa gambaran umum tentang suatu topik.

Description (deskripsi) adalah berisi ciri-ciri khusus yang dimiliki benda, tempat, atau orang yang
dideskripsikan. Misalnya sifat-sifat, tsmpilan fisik, dan hal lain yang dituliskan dengan spesifik.

Singapore is known for its transition as a third-world country to the first-world country. Singapore also was

healthcare, human capital, innovation, logistics, manufacturing, technology, tourism, trade, and transport.

Procedure Text
jenis text yang bertujuan untuk menggambarkan suatu perintah atau instruksi tentang bagaimana sesuatu dicapai
sesuai urutan atau langkah-langkah yang benar. biasanya ​procedure text​ diawali dengan “​How to ….​“.
Contohnya misalnya seperti “​How to make a cup of tea”​ (Cara membuat secangkir tea), “How to Use the
Computer” (Cara menggunakan komputer), dan masih banyak lagi contoh lainnya.

Beberapa ciri prosedure text adalah:

⦁​ mengunakan Simple Present Tense (S+V1)

⦁​ berbentuk imperative/bentuk perintah,

⦁​ menggunakan action verbs, contoh: make, take, boil, cook,

Contoh Biographical Text

General Sudirman was a high-ranking Indonesian military officer during the Indonesian national revolution. He
was the first commander-in-chief of the Indonesian Armed Forces, he continues to be widely respected in the
country. On 12 November 1945, at an election to decide the military’s commander-in-chief in YogyakartA. The
24 years old Sudirman was chosen over Oerip Soemohardjo in a close votE. While waiting to be confirmed,
Sudirman ordered an assault on British and Dutch forces in AmbarawA. The ensuing battle and British
withdrawal strengthened Sudirman’s popular support, and he was ultimately confirmed on 18 December.
General Sudirman commanded military activities throughout Java, including a show of force in Yogyakarta on 1
March 1949. When the Dutch began withdrawing, in July 1949 Sudirman was recalled to Yogyakarta and
forbidden to fight further. In late 1949 Sudirman’s tuberculosis returned, and he retired to Magelang, where he
died slightly more than a month after the Dutch recognised Indonesia’s independencE. He is buried at Semaki
Heroes’ Cemetery in Yogyakarta.
