Reincarnation Stories:

How Does Reincarnation Work?

The best reincarnation stories teach us how the process of

reincarnation functions in our own lives.

For example, I recently led the following guided visualization at the

annual meeting of the International Association of (Past Life)
Regression Research & Therapies.

The theme of the conference was Forgiveness.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

So, how does the process of reincarnation work?

Please close your eyes as I lead you in a guided visualization:

At some point, in some lifetime,

From a place of unawareness
We begin to notice that other people are judging us
Disliking us, maybe ridiculing us

After a while, our instinctive response is to judge them back

Little by little, this defense mechanism becomes a mental habit
That we build on from lifetime to lifetime
Until at some point
We attract to ourselves some big karma of judgment
Maybe we are brought to trial
For something we didn’t do
And we are given a prison sentence
Or are sentenced to death
And our anger is so great
And our habit of striking back so strong
That we lash out in judgment and hatred toward our tormentors
And we die with that thought strongly in our minds

So that in our next life

Judging others becomes something we do
As naturally as eating and sleeping
And we judge, not only those who judge us,
But anyone who does something we don’t approve of
And, though we are unaware of it
Little by little, bar by bar,
We are constructing a mental and spiritual cage
Around ourselves
A cage that prevents us from appreciating
Our own innate goodness
Our own higher Selves
And we become more and more miserable

After walking this path for a time

We begin to see, little by little,
What judging others is doing to us
But because the habit is strong
And we react to events and situations
Swiftly and unconsciously
We don’t see how we can possibly change
And we experience deep pain and despair

Until finally
We realize that there is no recourse
But to climb out of the pit we have dug for ourselves

And so
Step by step
One by one
We dissolve the bars of our inner cage
And the path is that of forgiveness
The path is that of non-judging

Each conscious act of forgiveness

Dissolves into nothingness
Another bar of our inner cage
And as we succeed in forgiving one ill deed
We find the strength to forgive another
And another, and another
Until forgiveness itself becomes a habit
Of mind and heart
And we feel an increasing inner freedom and joy
And our capacity to love grows
Until all things in the past and present
Are forgiven

But there is still one more step to take

And that is, to reach a point where we never judge again
Where we never hate another human being
Or anything or anyone for any reason
We develop the habit of non-judging
So that we do it automatically
After realizing that
“We can’t afford the luxury of a negative thought”
We become an instrument of unconditional love
To the world
We become a blessing to humanity
And to ourselves
And the thought of judging anyone
Never enters our minds

This is the end result

Of the path of forgiveness
(But it all started in the dim recesses of the past
When we noticed that someone was judging us)
Now we remember it all
Every experience in every lifetime
We can see the whole process
Laid out before us
Like a great and beautiful mosaic

And the only thing we can feel

Is gratitude for what we have gone through
Gratitude for what we have learned
And what we have become

[This is one example

Of the purpose of karma and reincarnation
And how it teaches us important life lessons
Slowly but surely]
