Once I receive an inquiry, I will respond with whether
understood the terms of service provided below.
All artwork is made and provided digitally, unless
otherwise discussed.
I accept both personal and commercial commissions.
Personal commissions:
These are commissions that are created for personal
use only, and therefore cannot be reproduced and/
or distributed for further financial gain. (character
commissions, concept art intended for personal use,
etc.) (See ‘Copyright’ section for more)
Commercial commissions:
These are commissions that are intended to be used,
reproduced and/or distributed for further financial
gain. (book covers, illustrated books, t-shirt designs
made to be sold, etc.) and will be charged extra
accordingly. (See ‘Copyright’ section for more)

process. When doing so, please provide me with the
• Your name (can be username/nickname in case of a
personal commission)
• Your PayPal e-mail address (for invoicing purposes)
• Type of project: one time or recurring, single illustration
or multiple illustrations
• Commission details: sketch, flat color or painting /
portrait, bust, waist up, full body / background or no
background / complex illustration(s)
• Character(s) info: names, descriptions, visual references,
their personality (brief ), optional: their backstory (brief ),
what kind of scene/interaction/pose you would like to
see
• What will you use the illustration(s) for? (based on this,
I will determine whether to classify this as a personal or
commercial commission)
• Any specific dimensions/resolution that may apply.
(particularly if intended for print)
• Any possible deadlines that may apply.
(in order to ensure a timely delivery, I ask that you
contact me at least two weeks prior to your deadline
for 1 character illustrations, a month prior for complex
illustrations, and at least two months prior for projects
including multiple illustrations; otherwise a rushed
deadline fee may apply)
I am free to accept your commission and a price
quote. If I am unable to take on your commission at
the moment, we can agree for you to be put on the
waiting list and be contacted as soon as my time
frees up. I however reserve the right to decline a
commission as I deem fit.
If the commission is accepted, a 50% down payment
of the agreed upon quote is required to begin the
work process.
Based on your provided description and references, I
will begin with creating a sketch that I will then send
over for you to approve. This is the stage where I
need you to be vocal about anything you might want
changed. Doing so later in the process might result in
additional charges, depending on the complexity of
the change.
Once the sketch has been approved by both sides,
the 50% down payment becomes non-refundable,
and I will proceed with the rest of the work (flat colors,
painting etc.). If the piece is a complex one, it is likely
that you will receive additional process screencaps
over time as I work.
When I deem a commission completed, I will send a
screencap/low resolution version of the work your
way for a final inspection. After that, I will invoice you
for the other 50% of the agreed upon quote (including
the cost of any potential additional changes that
might have occurred later in the process), and
once I have received the funds I will send you a full
resolution 300dpi JPG or PNG of the work.
You may cancel a commission at any point during
the process for any given reason. However, please
remember that if the cancellation occurs after I
have begun the sketching stage, the 50% deposit
becomes non-refundable. You may no longer cancel
a commission once it has been deemed completed.
The final 50% of the cost is non-refundable once paid.
I normally take payment through PayPal, and you will
be billed in the form of a PayPal invoice. Should you
for some reason not have access to PayPal or would
prefer a different method, I ask that you please notify
me so that we can discuss a solution. I also ask that
you pay in a timely manner in order to avoid schedule
delays.
I will ask for a 50% down payment of the agreed
upon quote in advance, and the other 50% upon the
completion of the commission.
Additional costs: potential complex changes to the
commission after the sketch stage, rushed deadline fees
Personal commissions:
Once provided with a finished personal commission,
you can only use the artwork in ways that will NOT
result in further financial gain. I, as the artist, keep all
the rights to publish, print and otherwise utilize the
work as I see fit. I allow personal commissions to be
posted online (blogs, websites, banners, social media
etc.) under condition that I be credited with ‘Ryuutsu
Art’ and a link to one of my social media pages, or
tagged where applicable.
Commercial commissions:
By accepting and charging your commission as
a commercial one, we will arrange the use of the
artwork in a way that is discussed and agreed upon,
complete with a statement/contract that confirms
the copyright transfer.

There are many factors that affect the price, usually
related to the level of detail and/or complexity, as well
as various stages of copyright transfer for commercial
commissions.
