Before you can start your qualification at UC you must first

meet university entrance requirements.

Admission with New Zealand qualifications

If you have completed your secondary education in New Zealand, you will need to meet one of
the following criteria.

If you are transferring to the University of Canterbury from another New Zealand university or

Discretionary Entrance 

Please note: Discretionary entrance, 20+ and Certificate in University Preparation (CUP) are only
available to New Zealand Citizens or holders of a Residence Class Visa and Australian Citizens, or
Permanent Residents of Australia, Cook Islands, Tokelau and Niue.

If you gained your qualifications outside of New Zealand you need to check the
minimum requirements relevant to the country you studied in.

When to apply
If you have Admission to the University of Canterbury you can simply apply to enrol -
applications open on 3 October.  If you need to apply for Admission, please submit your
complete application for Admission by:

Undergraduate applications
Semester 1 (February start) by 31 October
Semester 2 (July start) by 30 April

If you are an international student living outside of New Zealand you might want to
get some assistance with your application from an overseas representative in your
country.
