Q4.

How did you integrate technologies- software, hardware and online

in this project?

Ans. Digital technology in the present era has brought in many

advancements in the field of media, marketing, production and
distribution. It has made the whole process much easier, allowing
portability as well as efficiency through modifications made over time.
The whole project for the Music Promotion Package was centralized by
Digital Technology. The main hardware used was an i5 processor, 4GB
RAM MacBook Pro 2010 in which the editing was done. The shoot for the
music video was done using a Canon EOS 70D DSLR, 32GB SD card
SanDisk, iPad Pro and Apple Pencil for the Digipack and logo design.
Digital technologies have enabled anyone to develop and produce media
products in print, video and online. We used iPhone X for the Behind the
scenes.

Software that was used varied from mobile apps to heavy built desktop
application such as Adobe Suite. The main one, for editing the music
video was Adobe Premiere Pro CC 18. It had a lot of flexibility and
features such as options for plugins and video format presets for
exporting. For the scene in the music video of the friends having a
flashback, I used a Wedding Colors preset by Austin Newman from
YouTube to portray a flashback, changing the colors to something very
nostalgic. I had access to different transitions as well such as Dip To
White. I used Adobe Photoshop CC 17 to treat the pictures for the
Digipack for the artist. I then exported the PSD file onto the app
Procreate on my iPad, and worked on it. I made the logo on it using the
Apple Pencil which was very helpful and less bulkier than a graphic tablet.
The app Patternator also helped make the backdrop for the website of
the oranges. Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint also helped in
critical reflection and analysis of music videos.

Online technologies and services such as Scribd and OneDrive by

Microsoft helped in embedding documents (.docx files). Through
embedding, a third party interface was created onto the main blog page
for it to be available. The main blog page I used was on Wix.com. It is a
website making service for blogging and ecommerce etc. Wix also has an
app for smartphones, which I could access on my iPhone 6 as well and
edit my blog from anywhere. Wix allows for a variety of features on a
very visually appealing interface and design template, which has different
components such as the Button, Images, Gallery, Video, Embed etc.
features for blog posts. Wix was also what my team members and I used
to make the Website for our artist on, for the same reasons that it had a
large variety of templates and options for us to choose from for our artist
and was very flexible. It had the Shop page option which allowed a lot of
customization of pricing for our Artist Merchandise. I also used websites
such as YouTube and Vimeo to look up camera techniques and did my
research on editing styles as well. I downloaded different presets from
YouTube links as well which are present in video descriptions, such as the
Chung Dha Cinematic Zooms plugin for Adobe Premiere. Camera
movements, how to handle camera stability and production elements
were provided in videos by YouTubers such as Peter McKinnon. Facebook,
Snapchat and Instagram also helped a lot. We used these for auditions for
the casting in the music video, and to stay connected to each other. We
used WhatsApp and WhatsApp web for interconnectivity between each
other by sharing pictures and accessing pictures from our phones to our
desktops very easily without the comparatively hectic process of
emailing. Different websites on Google provides us with extra information
and research on our project, such as conventions of or genre and other
music videos about the topic of friendship. All of this was due to the
existence of the internet and how it bound everything together, breaking
any limitations.
