Wahab jafer, one of Pakistan ,s most respected abstract artist, was born in poona in 1941.He is
an artist whose contemporary exploration of the female form, through the use of bright hues
and explosive energy, has exhibited both extensively at home and abroad. His work maintains a
strong identity yet remains inspired by his mentor Ahmed Parvez. His bold and adventurous
style has a strong identity and his work exudes a refreshing energy as he continues to simplify
the female form and explore the richness of a full palette. This painting is bright, inventive and
symbolic. The mood and attitude of the women has been successfully captured on the canvas.
Vibrancy of color is prominent. This painting of women is clear, concise and cut down to the
chase revealing universal women full of energy and vivacity. The women are adorned with
beautiful headgear reminiscent of the styles worn by some African women. The turbans look as
if they are adorned and created by nests of birds. This painting displays group of women
standing together and looking united and firm in purpose. This painting reflects a grandeur and
imperiousness.
