COMMUNITY SERVICE

Community service is non-paying job performed by one person or a group of people for the benefit
of the community or its institutions. Community service is distinct from volunteering, since it is nit always
performed on a voluntary basis. Personal benefits may be realized, but it may be performed for a variety
reasons including citizenship requirements, a substitution of criminal justice sanctions, requirements of
a school or class, and requisites for receipt of certain benefits.
On July 07, 2018, the BSBA students together with the BS HRM and BSOA of the University of La
Salette conducted a Community Service as a activity of their NSTP or the National School Training
Program. First, their instructor Sir. Jb Baccay instructed them of what they are going to do. They
cleaned the surroundings of the College of Business Administration Building. They used their own Hard
Broom, Dustpan and Sacks. They have the unity and solidarity in cleaning the assigned area for them.
Then, they swept the ground, picked plastics, removed the grass and they throw the trunks in the proper
place. After the cleaning session, they went to the library for a quiz. The quiz is all about Community
Service, Volunteerism, Service Training and who are the Office Heads of the University of La Salette
and who are the speakers in the recent Orientation Program held in their school. After their quiz they
checked their attendance and some instruction told by their instructor for their next meeting.

ACTIVITY # 2

COMMUNITY SERVICE

July,7 last Saturday. We bring a dustpan,sako and walis ting ting because that is
the instruction of our instructor last last Saturday. At the school BSBA students and other
students conduct a community service. Sir JB Baccay instruct all the student BSBA and the
other section need to clean because this is the part of our activity. We need to clean our
designated area. We pick some plastics we remove grasses we remove some dried plant and
we remove branches of trees.After we clean Sir JB instruct again he said that we need to follow
his instruction he said that were going to the library because we have a quiz and all the student
will shock because we didn’t expect this quiz. All the student will follow Sir JB in the library. And
Sir JB start questioning and so on.

others. You do not get paid to perform community service, though sometimes food and small
gifts, like a t-shirt, are given to volunteers.Community service can help any group of people in
need: children, senior citizens, people with disabilities. It can also help animals, such as those
at a shelter, and it can be used to improve places, such as a local park, historic building, or
scenic area as well. You can also start your own community service projects.

Volunteering is generally considered an altruistic activity where an individual or

group provides services for no financial or social gain’’ to benefit another person, group or
organization’’ Volunteering is also renowned for skill development and is often intended to
promote goodness or to improve human quality of life.

After quiz our instructor said were going to ‘batibot’ for some instruction. And again
we need again to pass a narrative report on Wednesday. And he check the attendance and he
dismiss the class earlier.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Community service is a work done by a person or group of people that benefits other. It is also
provides collaboration with others, time management and communication community service is
one of our requirement to pass this subject. Last Saturday, we are assigned to clean a partial
area in our school the work doesn’t easily done because some students don’t have their
cleaning materials but with the help of each other together with Sir Jb were able to finished up
our work. Right after we clean we proceed to the Graduate school library to have a short quiz
regarding to the activity were done.

Community Service also helps us to become more active. It also provides knowledge and
action. Although it is a tiring activity it benefits everyone of us because friendship start to build
here. We can also learn our personal strength and weaknesses when we’ll get to know how our
personal attribute and action can make a difference. I hope that our next community service will
be fun and exciting because we got a chance to become aware why we need to keep our
environment clean and green.
