THE CASE BUSTER

Good afternoon and Namaste to everyone present here.

Today on 12th December, 2017, we all have come together in Kathmandu University School of
Managements’ premises from different colleges with the motive of collaboration, which is the main
theme of our event. And I, Jyoti Pokharel as the emcee of today’s program would like to welcome you all
to the first pre-event of KAF, Day-2; The Case Buster.

Before we begin, may I request everyone to stand up as we are going to play the national anthem?

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors and partners who have provided us with
their assistance to make this event happen. Our event is supported by Pilot pen and Urban Girl. Our gift

Now, I would like to introduce you to the judges of today’s program. First of all, we have Mr.
Mitrabandhu Poudel, the principal of Little Angels’ College of Management. Mitrabandhu sir has written
many cases himself. Then we have Mr. Suman Dahal, the program Coordinator of APEX College who has
been involved in education sector for more than 11 years now. Similarly, we have Mr. Sabin Panta, the
Assistant Professor of Kathmandu University School of Mangement for nearly 9 years now. Thank you so
much sirs for giving us your valuable time being present here today.

Moving on, I request Mr. Simanta Dahal, the co-ordinator of Day-2 of KAF to please come forward and
share a few words about the program.

We will be starting with the presentations soon but before that I would like to the rules and judging
criteria that the presenters will have to keep in mind.

The evaluation of the presentation on a general base would be decided on the extent to which the
team:

1. Provide clear problem identification using background information

2. Present strategies using background information addressing the identified problem

3. Use of conceptually correct and appropriate framework for problem identification and strategy
development

4. Demonstrate clear and concise presentation and visual aids (slides)

5. Demonstrate consistency in presentation, question and answer, and time management

The allocation of each criteria have 20 full marks equal to 100 in total.

The time allocated to each team is 20 minutes of which 12 minutes is for presentation itself and the
remaining 8 minutes is for question answer round. We have our time keeper Miss. Suprima Poudel in
the front row who will alert you the first time when you have 2 minutes remaining to complete your
presentation. And she will again give a signal when you have 1 minute remaining.

Presenters are obliged to complete their presentation within 12 minutes. Anything spoken after the first
12 minutes will not be evaluated by our judges.

That was our last presentation for the day. I would like to congratulate all the presenters for presenting
themselves and expressing their ideas so well. I am truly delighted to have been a part of this program.
And I am sure you all must be hungry and a little tired, so before we continue with the program, I
