INTERNSHIP PRIMER

Summer Semester
June-July 2016

STEP 1: WHO can apply? STEP 3: WHERE to apply?


Only students who have completed at least two (2) years of the J.D. Curriculum are Submit resumes, cover letters, transcripts of records and all necessary documents to

Each additional set costs 50Php
Ask the firm/agency/office to submit a letter addressed to Dean Vallente describing
their law firm, areas and specialties, scope of work for apprentice, duration of work
Proxies are allowed to claim the internship forms PROVIDED:
1. student represented must provide an authorization letter and other pertinent data that they may see fit.
2. proxy must first ask for the approval of Atty. Vallente, Associate Dean for
Student Affairs,if the internship is related to the track of the student

Only after Dean Vallente’s approval will Ms. Marissa allow the proxy to claim the
forms.

STEP 4: WHERE to submit your duly accomplished WHO delivers APR Form 3 (blue) and the Certificate of Completion to Ms.

After getting your preliminary approval, submit accomplished APR Form 1 in its
original copy (white) and its duplicate copy (green) to Dean Vallente for approval if IMPORTANT NOTES:
your internship can be credited as tracked. -To avoid any delays, request for your TRANSCRIPT of records from the ADMIN as
soon as possible
After your application has been approved by Dean Vallente, submit white and green -Most companies just ask for a photocopy of the original transcript of records. So for
forms to Ms. Marissa for Dean Candelaria’s approval. the meantime, just request one original copy of your transcript of records from the
ADMIN
APR Form 1 (white) will be handed back to you. Keep the original copy of the APR -To know if the firm you want to apply for is accredited or not, you can refer to the
Form 1 (white) and submit that to your Supervising Attorney. List of accredited firms from the SC or ask Ms. Marissa at window 1
-PLEASE do not forget to follow up on your blue forms once you are done with your

Total hours required to complete the apprenticeship period is 240 hours. Equivalent
to 4 units

A minimum of 120 hours during the summer break (2 units each)

In lieu of the tracking of internship, 240 hours can be credited even if your

STEP 6: WHAT to do on the first day of work?


Give your Supervising Attorney APR Form 1 Original (white), APR Form 2 (yellow)
and APR Form 3 (blue) on your first day

The Supervising Attorney must indicate his formal acceptance of you as an applicant
by accomplishing APR Form 2 (yellow) and submitting it with the Ateneo Law
School within 10 days from your first day of work

WHO delivers APR Form 2 (yellow) to Ms. Marissa?


Either THEM personally or by mail or YOU personally

The Supervising Attorney must accomplish and send APR Form 3 (blue) within 30
days of completion of your apprenticeship in a sealed envelope addressed to the
Ateneo Law School
