Materials: textbook, flip chart paper, worksheet, blackboard, glue, strips of paper, pictures.
Anticipated problems: Some students might need further help and extra indications in solving the
tasks and they may also need some of these indications to be given in Romanian.
Competences :
2.1.Reproduce language structures / simple short messages using specific pronunciation and
intonation;
2.2.Participate in simple dialogues in areas of immediate need;
2.3.Introduce and identify a person / character / object;
3.2.Identify the global meaning of a simple text on familiar topics;
3.3.Understand simple , familiar ,widely used messages from friends , schoolmates , teacher.
Aims:
- to complete tasks of vocabulary practice
- develop students’ writing and speaking skills
The students in this beginner class are aged between 11-12. They are in their first year of
English, so they are not familiar with English grammar and vocabulary. They are
enthusiastic and looking forward to learn new things. They are still reluctant to speak in
English, but they express themselves in small sentences.

The teacher tells the students that they have a new lesson in which they will learn
vocabulary structures related to daily routine. The teacher writes the title of the lesson on the
blackboard and the students copy it in their notebooks.

Skills : speaking, writing
The teacher asks the students if they they remember the cardinal numbers in English.
Then she explains the manner of telling the time using the clock drawn on the flip chart
paper . The teacher writes some examples on the blackboard.
The students answer the teacher’s questions and write the examples in their notebooks.

Timing : 3’
Teacher gives some “thumbs up” to the students who managed well during the lesson,
assigning marks if possible and encourages the other students that tried to give correct answers but
failed. Teacher explains homework – make sentences about their daily rotine using the new
vocabulary structures .
Students ask questions regarding the lesson and/or the homework.
