You are going to see images of five cities and their landmarks. Write a
paragraph describing each city and country it belongs and the landmark shown.
Use the vocabulary from the box for the descriptions. The first one is done for
you as an example. / A continuación verá imágenes de cinco ciudades y sus
lugares representativos. Escriba un párrafo describiendo cada ciudad, el país al
que pertenece y el lugar mostrado. Use el vocabulario dentro del recuadro para

New York is a big city in the

United States (North
America). It takes thousand of
visitors every year. The city
has a population of around 8
million people. There is a lot
to see and do in New York.
You can visit the Central Park,
the Metropolian museum and
Time’s Square. In the picture
you can see the Statue of
Liberty, a monumet built
between 1875 and 1986. It is
93 meters tall. The statue is
New York (USA) – The Statue of Liberty
located on Liberty Island in
the Hudson River.

Rome (Italy) – Saint Peter’s Square
Rome is an Italian city. It is the
most populated municipality in
Italy and is the fourth most
populated city in the European
Union. It is known since the end
of Antiquity as the City. It is also
called "The Eternal City". It is the
city with the highest
concentration of historical and
architectural assets in the world,
its historical center delimited by
the perimeter marked by the
Aurelian walls, overlapping
footprints of three millennia, is
the expression of the historical,
artistic and cultural heritage of
the Western European world.
The Plaza de San Pedro is
perhaps the most famous square
in the world and one of the most
beautiful. It was built by Bernini
in the mid-seventeenth century
and can accommodate more
than 300,000 people.
Is a sovereign country of
Oceania, whose form of
government is the parliamentary
federal constitutional monarchy.
The country occupies the main
continental mass of the platform
called Sahul, as well as some
islands in the Pacific, Indian and
Antarctic oceans. The countries
closest to Australia are
Indonesia, East Timor and
Papua New Guinea to the north,

New Caledonia to the northeast,

southeast. Australia is the sixth
largest country in the world,

at least forty-six thousand years.
The Sydney Opera House or
Sydney Opera House, located in
the city of Sydney, New South
Wales State, Australia, is one of
the most famous and distinctive
buildings of the twentieth
century.
Scotland is the northernmost of
the four constituent nations of
the United Kingdom. It limits to
the north and west with the
Atlantic Ocean; to the east with
the North Sea, to the south with
England and to the southwest
with the North Channel and the
Irish Sea. The Scottish territory
covers 78 772 km², the capital is
Edinburgh, while Glasgow is the
largest city, and its metropolitan
area concentrates 40% of the
total Scottish population.
Edinburgh Castle is an old
fortress erected on a rock of
volcanic origin located in the
center of the city of Edinburgh. It
has been used for military
purposes since the twelfth
century, being used for civil
purposes only in very recent
times.
 Dubai is an Emirati city, capital
of the emirate of the same
name, one of the seven United
Arab Emirates. It is the largest
city and the main port of the
United Arab Emirates. Located in
the Persian Gulf, it is the capital
of the Emirate of Dubai, and has
more than one million
inhabitants.The Burj Khalifa is a
skyscraper located in Dubai is
the central part of a more
complex development known in
Dubai (United Arab Emirates) – The Burj English as Downtown Dubai.
