RESULTS
The results below present the item mean of the responses of the respondents on the oral
communication apprehension. The level of the responses ranges from very high to very low.
In the table above, it shows that the respondents have moderately low level of oral
communication apprehension with a mean score of 3.8 on item number 2 as ranked first while
they have a moderately high level of oral communication apprehension with a mean score of 2.1
on item number 1 as ranked 14th or the last rank. The average mean score of the level of oral
communication apprehension of the respondents is 3.1, which means that they have a moderate

The tables above show the levels of speaking skills. Table 2 shows the specified
speaking activities on the various speaking activities under the different criteria. The respondents
have an excellent level on the pronunciation and language for the impromptu speaking and
pronunciation for peer discussion with a mean of 4.6 as ranked first while they have a fair level of
nonverbal communication for the impromptu speaking with a mean of 3.5 which ranked 11th or the
last rank. Table 3 shows the general speaking activities. First in rank is the peer discussion with a
mean of 4.2 while the 3rd or last rank is the impromptu speaking with a mean of 3.9, both having a
very good level of speaking skills. The average mean of the speaking skills of the respondents is
4.1, which means that they have a very good level of speaking skills.

Table 4 shows that in the oral communication apprehension score and the level of
speaking skills in the impromptu speaking have a moderate correlation ρ of 0.52163 and 0.515
respectively. Only 0.14% and 0.14% of the variations of the level of speaking skills during the
impromptu speaking and the clinical interview respectively were accounted by the variation of the
levels of oral communication apprehension. While on the peer discussion, the correlation
between the levels of communication apprehension and the level of speaking skills has a
correlation of 0.32067 (a weak correlation) and only 0.14% of variation of the level of speaking
The level of significance for the clinical interview is 0.03234 and for the panel discussion
is 0.03204. Since it is 0.05 <, it has no significant relationship. Meanwhile, the level of
significance for the impromptu speaking is 0.05216. Since it is 0.05 >, it has a significant
relationship.
