Diocese ofthe Northeast & Mid-Atlantic Reformed Episcopal Church * Anglican Church in North America Office of the Bishop Ordinary Easter Monday April 22, 2019 Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Greetings in the name of our risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Last week, I informed the Standing Committee of the Diocese of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic that I have accepted the call of Saint Peter's Anglican Church, Butler, Pennsylvania, to serve as their new rector, effective August 1, 2019. This means that I have submitted my resignation as the Ordinary of this diocese, effective July 31, 2019. My reasons for accepting this call are two-fold. First, I have sensed the Lord’s clear direction, leading me to retum to parish ministry, Second, itis my conviction that the Diocese needs a bishop who has a fresh perspective and the particular gifts that will be helpful in moving the Diocese forward from this point. Many who serve in pastoral ministry come to a place where they realize that they have contributed the extent of their gifls and skills to help God’s people in a particular place, and that it is time for God to use them in a new location, This is my belief, as. it applies to my fourieen years of ministry in the Diocese as bishop. Presiding Bishop Ray Sutton has spoken with the Standing Committee, and he will be leading the Diocese in the search for a new bishop to serve you, I am confident in his wise leadership and Janow that he will guide you in the right way. Please know that I count it a great privilege to have ministered in the Diocese of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic and will miss secing you on a regular basis. Lisa and I value the personal friendships that we have with so many of you, and all of you will remain in our prayers for God’s continued blessing. nl DQ The Rt. Rey. David L.
