Advances in sintered metal filter (IOSR-JPBS 2014):

Excellent performance for the separation of particulate matter is obtain for the filtration unit or
technology which uses sintered metal filters. Many Chemical Processes, Petrochemical
industries and power generation plants widely use sintered metal filer media. Advances in
sintered metal filter technology includes the replacement of old batch process technology into
the development of continuous processes.
Gas-Solids filtration systems which includes Cyclones, electrostatic precipitator and the
disposal filters are replaced by this sintered fiber filtration technology. To prevent early stage
blinding of the solution or media because of fluctuation occurring in process operation, the
operations of sintered metal filter should be restricted within the design parameters. The
efficiency of sintered metal filter increases as the cake forms. Cake acts as filtrating medium
and porous media acts like a septum in order to retain the filter cake.
Advances in Ultrafiltration (IOSR-JPBS 2014):
In Today’s modern world, ultrafiltration is becoming a powerful key as a separating media for
the rapidly growing chemicals, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, paper pulp and biotechnology
industry. Waste water treatment, cell harvesting, recovery of enzymes, effluent filtration from
paper and pulp mill, fruit juice concentration etc. are the examples of in which operation of
ultrafiltration is used as per the demand of the processes. In pharmaceuticals industries,
ultrafiltration has one notable advancement over the centrifugation for harvesting of bacteria.
The phenomena are such that the ultrafiltration membrane character which are asymmetric in
nature provides less prone to clogging by debris and cells than that of micro porous filter. Apart
from the applications which are discuss above, plasma product processing is also one of the
promising applications.

Absolute Rated Pleated Depth Filters:

pore size rating are the most commonly used filters membrane in sterilizing filtration
technology. All bacteria which are known for surviving in the harsh environment of
pharmaceutical operations are removed by using these types of sterilizing filters.
