4.2 Local monitoring on T2S 4.2
The alarms are generated by the T2S and are seen on the main shelf.

4.3 Local monitoring on notebook 4.3

The local monitoring on note book requires one USB-USB cable and the TSI driver (loaded from WEB site).
This monitoring allows checking the running parameters and the source of alarm. The configuration file can be
also uploaded and downloaded.
Please refer to the specific operating manual for T2S for Site address where driver can be loaded and for
learning how to use the monitoring system.

4.4 Remote monitoring on dry contact. 4.4

a) Outgoing monitoring:

TSI cabinet is equipped with relays outputs for remote alarms:

Major Alarm (contact 1_2 closed when No alarm)
Minor Alarm (contact 4_5 closed when No alarm)
 User selectable Alarm
These relay are driven by the LED as explained on chapter 4.2 . LEDS show inverter status. The output alarm
terminal is detailed on 3.4.2
All alarms are qualified in Minor alarm except those configurable by T2S. These configurable alarms are
identified by the ID601 to 900. Refer to list of factory settings present in T2S manual.

NB: relays are energized while idle (i.e. relays de-energized when event occur).
MAJOR, MINOR and selectable relay provides an open or close free potential contact

Relay characteristics:
Maximum switching capacity: 2A @ 30VDC or 1A @ 60VDC
Maximum switching power: 60W
Maximum voltage: 60VDC SELV
Maximum switching current: 2A

b) Incoming monitoring:

Two external input contacts can be monitored through the T2S. One is used to monitor the maintenance by-
pass position, and other keep usually free. To use this input, you will connect the free switch on terminal X5
pine 1-2. See 3.4.2.

TSI SYSTEM 1P 10 to 30KVA 230VAC USER MANUAL Rev2.3.doc P 17

The voltage present on terminal 1 and 3 is +5V (galvanically insulated). Care should be taken to avoid
connecting any external voltage on terminal 1 to 3.
External signals should be applied to these terminals via Volt-free contacts.
The function is activated when the 2 terminals concerned are short-circuited (i.e. when the external Volt-free
contact is closed)

c) Remote ON/OFF

TSI system can be remotely activated or stopped (stand-by mode).

See chapter 3.4.2.

Changeover contacts must be used. For transition the TSI checks actually that one
input is released whilst the other is short circuited.
If both transitions are not picked up the inverter does not change its operating status.

The voltage present on terminal X6 pine 1 and 3 is +5V (galvanically insulated). Care should be taken to avoid
connecting any external voltage on terminal 1 to 3. Maximum wire size is 1 mm²

6.4 Maintenance and by-pass 6.4
Equipment does not require any particular maintenance, but if environment is dirty, the Maintenance By-
Pass will be engaged to allow inverter and shelf cleaning. Load will fed by commercial network.
The BY-PASS procedure is used also to work on the shelves under save conditions (no AC voltage
present).

Maintenance by-pass procedure:

Maintenance By-Pass has to be manipulated by trained people only. The

environment must be previously checked by trained person who has to take all
preventive action.

TSI SYSTEM 1P 10 to 30KVA 230VAC USER MANUAL Rev2.3.doc P 23

Caution and crosscheck before intervention:

-Commercial AC must be present, and inverter must be synchronized with it before

operating MBP. The upstream commercial breaker must be correctly sized to accept the
overload, and if the AC is supplied by a genset, the minimal required power will be
twice nominal power of the inverter.
-The inverter might be overloaded during MBP procedure, depending on voltage
network and output inverter voltage setting.
-To reduce the overload impact, the inverter power and current will be reduced from
150% to nominal value.

Bear in mind that the BY_PASS switch disconnect all AC voltage on the shelves
but has no action on the DC feeding on inverter and on remote alarm terminal.

Procedure:

To place the Maintenance By-Pass to ON position (load fed by AC Mains without crossing
inverter)
1) Close S1
2) Open S2
3) Open S3
4) Switch OFF DC power on each inverter (using DC breakers of any)

To place the Maintenance By-Pass to OFF position (load fed through inverter)

1) Switch ON DC power on all inverter (using DC breakers of any)

2) Close S3
3) Wait for the complete modules starting (Green led for ACout)
4) Close S2
5) Open S1
