1.0 PURPOSE
To establish & maintain a procedure for carrying out dewatering in observation pit for dusup line
crossing for 132kV cable laying works for.
 Method Statement for Dewatering (Using Submersible pump)

2.0 SCOPE

This procedure is applicable to all trenches for observation pits and trial pits.

4.0 DEFINITIONS

4.1 Company:

4.2 HSE Officer: To Ensure Work executed by fulfilling all the safety requirements.

4.3 Site Engineer: Nominated for particular project to execute works through proper
channel. Ensures all work executed by as per the approved drawing
and complying with client specification. Also conduct inspection for
activities at the site

4.4 Project Manager: Company designated Project leader as decided by the Management
and assigned with the responsibility of managing the project. Ensures
all the work as per the client requirements and complete as per the
planned program.

5.0 PROCEDURE

5.1 Responsibility
The responsibility for carrying out this Method Statement shall be that of the Site Engineer /
Project Manager, unless otherwise specifically mentioned in this procedure. Site engineer
shall be responsible for inspection & testing.

5.2 Excavation
 NOC's from all authorities, trial pit verification drawings & work intimation
clearance from Transmission & distribution dept to be checked for any underground
services prior to commencement of any excavation.
 Excavation shall be carried out to expose dusup gas pipe. The water logged area is to
be dried using submersible pumps with long hoses to discharge in the lagoon.

8.0 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

8.1 General safety: All works shall be carried out as per DEWA rules and regulations. All
personnel will be provided with adequate PPE.
8.2 Accident reporting procedure: As per DEWA Safety regulations.
8.3 Amenities: Temporary shed will be provided as rest area. Toilet facilities will be
provided at site.
8.4 Waste management: Concrete debris and other construction material shall be carted
away and dumped to the approved dumping yard.
8.5 Training: All operator / laborers are safety trained and toolbox talk to be conducted.
8.6 Housekeeping: High standard of housekeeping shall be maintained.
8.7 First Aid Box: First aid box with all required medicines shall be kept at site.
