Romeo vs.

Paris

Introduction

The Narrative option I chose was prompt number 5. In the

play Juliet drinks the potion but it has no effect on her
therefore she has to marry Paris. I chose this option because
I felt like I could write a lot about this prompt and be really
creative with it.
Conflict and Exposition

The conflict of the story is Juliet is forced to marry Paris and

Romeo is exiled so he couldn’t do anything about it. I
introduced the story by starting it off with Juliet drinking the
potion and nothing happens and then nurse walks in. I
started this way because I felt like if I start off with Juliet just
drinking the potion I could grab the reader’s attention by
doing that.
Conflict and Exposition

The thing I kept the same from book in the beginning is that
Juliet still ends up deciding to drink the potion to be with
Romeo. I changed that in my story the potion ends up not
working at all and she ends up marrying Paris because Lord
Capulet forces her to. I changed in that way because the
prompt said that potion does not work and Juliet ends up
marrying Paris so I that’s why I changed things so it follows
along with the prompt.
Rising Action

Juliet goes to Friar Lawrence to see if he knew what was

wrong with the potion but Friar Lawrence tell her that he has
nothing else for and she goes back to the Capulet Household.
Then Lord Capulet walks into her room and reminds her
wedding is tomorrow. After that Friar Lawrence goes to the
Capulet Household and tells Juliet that he can’t do anything
about the potion and that she has to continue on with the
wedding with Paris.
Rising Action

Then Friar Lawrence leaves the Capulet Household and

secretly goes off to Mantua which is where Romeo was exiled
to. Friar Lawrence meets up with Romeo and informs him
about the situation which aggravates Romeo a lot. Romeo
decides to go back to Verona without permission and goes
under juliet’s balcony.
Climax

Romeo climbs up to get inside Juliet’s room and they see

each other for the first time after Romeo was exiled. They
both planned to secretly leave Verona and live together in
Mantua. As they were about to leave Paris walks into Juliet’s
room. Paris saw Romeo and was about to tell everyone he
was there but as he was about run outside Romeo grabbed
onto him and took out his dagger and pushed the dagger
right through his chest.
Falling Action and Resolution

At the end Romeo and Juliet climb down from their balcony and
as they were about to exit the Capulet household the Prince and
his guards were waiting for them because Lord Capulet informed
him that someone killed Paris. Prince Escalus finds out that it
was Romeo who killed Paris so he sent his guards to grab a hold
onto him. Romeo manages to kill multiple guards but there was
just too many. The guard make Romeo kneel down and the
Prince executes Romeo by beheading him. The Prince also puts
Juliet in a cell for lifetime. Then he warns the two families that if
any of their feuds continue both families shall be killed. This
ending is different from the play because in my story only
Romeo dies and Juliet is imprisoned while in the play both of
them die together.
Self Reflection

In my narrative I think I did pretty in putting a good amount of dialogue in

each page. Although I could have done much better in explaining the most
of what wrote more in depth and show a deeper meaning in the story. The
project option was very complex and hard for me since I very much so
dislike writing any form of narrative. If I were to start over I would choose
the Instagram option because I feel like I could do a lot better in that than
doing a narrative because I am a lot better at being analytical. Overall I
think I addressed my narrative option pretty well because I somewhat met
the requirements.
