In the field of learning you have three types of learning styles; visual, auditory, and
kinesthetic. When engaging and motivating students to learn, it is important to know how these
concepts are properly used during instruction. For a visual learner it is important to present
information by way of power point, videos, and highlighting with color makers or pencils around
pertinent material to embed it in their working memory. Now, the auditory learner gathers
information best when the concept is heard through verbal lecture and the kinesthetic learner
needs physical movement and touch to stimulate their thinking. This is how I will engage each
learning style.
In the inclusive classroom before I start working with the student, I will identify the
learner upon reading each student’s IEP. This will give me a clear synopsis of their
accommodations and who may need modification on assignments. Once that is in place, I will
implement universal design during groups. The curriculum will be structure to meet various
needs, but setup where students is able to work within their strengths. Different assessment tools
It is necessary to assess students on what they have learned throughout the weeks and
throughout the semester. This is done through, grading for independent assignments, test, and
student performing the concept on the board or creating a project of the concept they have
learned. When the tasks are graded then the student will know whether they have learned the
material.
