    1. Derive the expression for Debye length for the case when both, electron and ion species
    are following Bolzmann’s distribution with their temperatures Te and Ti respectively.
    What happens in the limiting case of Te >> Ti ?

    2. Provide examples with some description about the use of plasma science and technology
    in following areas:

    • Bio-medical applications
    • Microwave technology
    • Nuclear fusion
    • Spacecraft charging
    • Material surface modification

    3. Describe the motion of an electron (mass me , charge −e) in the presence of a constant
    ~ and magnetic field B
    electric field E ~ individually ?

    4. Explain plasma interaction with the boundary [formation of sheath]. How does the
    potential / Electric field changes over the boundary compared to the bulk plasma ?
