NORMAL – Adele preformed at Illinois State University in the Redbird Arena on Friday at 8 p.m.

where a fan interrupted her performance.

Christina Perri opened the show at 7 p.m. and performed for one hour. Directly after,

Adele took the stage at 8 p.m., but was quickly interrupted by a fan, who was later identified as

ISU senior Jackie Jones.

At 8:50 p.m. Jones attempted to rush the stage while Adele was in the middle of singing

her hit “Rolling in the Deep.” Additional security was called to restrain the fan. Jones was

arrested and found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.15. She was released from police

custody and is awaiting a trail.

After the incident, the concert continued without interruptions. Adele performed for

three hours and had a total of four costume changes throughout the show. The show concluded

around 11:20 p.m.

Tickets went on sale on Jan. 1 and the show was completely sold out within 24 hours.

Most people who attended were ISU students.

“Adele is my idol, so having the opportunity to watch her perform at my own school was

incredible,” said ISU junior and music major Stephanie Phillis.

Previous Adele fans thrilled by her performance, but also students who were not as

familiar enjoyed the concert.

“I haven’t really listened to Adele in the past, but after hearing her concert I’m going to

start,” said ISU freshman Ashley Schmitt. Overall, ISU had a great turn out and are hoping to

have Adele back to perform again next year.
