1. Man’s best friend. The epitome of unconditional loyalty, love, and forgiveness. Dogs
have been the companions of humans for thousands of years, and there no way that’s
going to stop.
2. Dogs of all kind of have been given the title of being “the cutest dog ever”, and the name
is deserving to all. Fun fact: elephants think humans are cute the same way humans think
puppies are cute - the same part of the brain is activated when they see one.
3. For the sake of this presentation, it’s good to know pugs are my favorite dog, so they will
be occurring often. Pugs have a sad history behind them.
4. Pugs used to be drowned because some sadistic people thought it was “cool” to do
because pugs have smashed faces, and breathing problems. They have their smashed
faces from years of inbreeding.
5. This is an example of a pug without a smashed face, known as a “Retro Pug.” Super cute
right? And healthy! What a good boy.
6. Besides just being one of the cutest species on Earth, dogs have been proven to have
beneficial effects on humans; in terms of happiness and health.
7. Based on a study by NCHR (National Center for Health Research), pet owners had lower
blood pressure levels, and a lower resting heart rate than those who do not own pets.
They also help to regulate heart rates during stressful situations
8. In a 2002, a study was formed to research the positive effects dogs have on their humans
during a stressful task, being a math exam in this instance.
9. The people with dogs showed to have lower blood pressure at the beginning, had less
heart rates spikes, and made newer mistakes.
10. Based off this information, these findings indicated having a dog lowers the risk of heart
disease, as well as lowering stress so that performance improved
11. This proves that having dogs make you live longer and stress less, leading to a happier,
longer, and more successful life.
12. A similar study proved that having your dog in the room is more effective than taking a
blood pressure medicine when under stress. Another study found that simply stroking a
dog is able to lower cholesterol levels.
13. Dogs have been proven to significantly ease anxiety in children; they also give a sense of
well-being to the elderly, and some individuals even reported being able to perform
certain physical activities
14. From studies in Germany and China, results show that those with dogs had fewer doctors
visits, and in China they took fewer sick days.
15. Dogs have also proven to help with depression in women, not as much men though. It’s
also been proven they are v good boys that are v good at begging
16. Dogs also are given as companions to those with health or mental disorders and to the
elderly
17. Therapy dogs reduced levels of pain and anxiety among hospitalized children and adults,
as well as increased focus and interaction among children with autism and other
developmental disorders
18. In nursing home settings, interaction with visiting dogs has led to more social behaviors,
more interaction among residents, and less loneliness.
19. Funny faces of dogs have also been 10/10 proven to reduce sadness and increase
happiness. So does drawing eyebrows on dogs.
20. There is also evidence that interaction with a companion animal even for a short time
might have a range of benefits
