La lectura es una de las habilidades más utilizadas en el mundo, pero a la vez es la menos
motivante, dado que en ocasiones hay textos muy extensos y con vocabulario complejo
que dificulta su comprensión y le resta interés al texto; afortunadamente existen nuevos
métodos que facilitan obtener la información necesaria y con ello aumentar el léxico
personal.

En este orden de ideas y con la finalidad de cumplir con el propósito de esta evidencia,
consulte el material complementario denominado Integration of products and services.

Luego de esta consulta, resuelva el siguiente taller sobre comprensión lectora:

1. Find the main idea of paragraphs 1, 2, 9, 10, 11, and 12, and write them in a
paragraph.

Paragraph 1:
Main Idea
If the companies renew and increase their investment in technology, they will have a
significant productivity growth with the help of the internationalization of the economies

Paragraph 2:
Main Idea
The technology and the internet are making the economy be globalized, becoming into a
digital time for the companies and the business must be ready for it.

Paragraph 9:
Main Idea
Digitization makes better process to the companies, also it helps with the data processing,
helps with location and save the information in a safe way
Paragraph 10:
Main Idea
3D printing promotes the development of the industry, generates production speed and
reduces costs, and satisfies the consumer with greater speed and greater influence in
production, generating a link between products and services.

Paragraph 11:
Main Idea
Innovation creates a link between services and products, in an advanced economies. A
company that offer services as the same time products increase the opportunities for it
self.

Paragraph 12:
Main Idea
In Europe exist the intersection between products and services, the companies have the
technology as a priority including some small and traditional business.

2. Write a summary of ten lines from the text.

The modern economy is working hard in the hand of the digital revolution, companies are
learning and expanding their catalogs, offering products and services at the same time.
International competition is bringing new workers and new clients with it, creating a race
that already go out from each country, including small ones, and becomes a global race.
Now the products and services are available from all over the world and without borders
through electronic devices. Europe has seen the importance of adapting to new
technologies and creating policies to globalize its market, creating faster and more agile
production methods to generate more satisfaction and better service experiences for its
clients, in order to compete and sustain itself in the global race
3. Choose a paragraph and translate it with your own words.

Technological Revolution
The internet and digital communications are general purpose technologies, transforming
economies as profoundly as the printing press, steam engine or electricity have done in
the past. Against this backdrop, it is important to understand that there is no such thing
as a ‘digital economy’ – the economy is digital. Far from being the exclusive domain of
technology startups, every company, particularly in traditional industries, needs to
prepare for digitisation. Yet, on balance, European companies have been slow to adapt:
41% of enterprises are still classifiable as ‘nondigital’ – meaning they do not use digital
technologies and have no digital strategy – while only 2% take full advantage of digital
opportunities.

Revolución tecnológica
Internet y las comunicaciones digitales son tecnologías de propósitos generales, que
transforman economías como la imprenta, la máquina de vapor o la electricidad lo han
hecho en el pasado. A pesar de esto, es importante entender que no existe una
'economía digital' - la economía es digital. Lejos de ser el dominio exclusivo de
nacientes tecnologías. Todas las empresas, especialmente las Industrias tradicionales,
necesitan prepararse para la digitalización.
Sin embargo, las empresas europeas han tardado en adaptarse: el 41% de las
empresas todavía son calificadas como 'no digitales' - lo que significa que no usan
tecnologías digitales y no tienen una estrategia digital, mientras que solo el 2% toma
ventaja de las oportunidades digitales
.

10- TECHNOLOGY: the branch of knowledge that deals with the creation and use
of technical means and their interrelation with life, society and the enviroment,
drawing upon such subjects as industrial arts, engineering, applied science and
pure science.
