Introduction

Philippines is one of the three countries worldwide with a ten-year basic

education curriculum. In the year 2013 of Aquino administration, the K to 12 Curriculum,

also known as Enhanced Basic Education act of 2013 have started its full

implementation prior to its pioneer batch of students who are now the present Grade 12

students of Senior High School. The new educational system of the country added two

additional years in high school that aims to produce globally competitive learners and

prepare graduates for tertiary education, middle-level skills development, employment,

and entrepreneurship.

As of now, Senior High School has a total population of ______ students enrolled

in Lal-lo National High School, both Grade 11 and Grade 12.

. The flexibility of every track and strand available in the institution vary the students’

choice in opening up with the degree courses and/or their own career paths that

pertains to three exits of Senior High School which are the ‘trabaho’, ‘negosyo’ at

‘kolehiyo’ that focused on the fundamental objective of K to 12 curriculum stated above.

This research study entitled “Top Selected Track/Strand of Grade 10 students of

Lal-lo National High School S.Y 2017-2018” reveals a statistical analysis that quantifies

the number of respondents who had chosen a certain track or strand based on their
specified reasons or factors that affect their matter of choosing. It gives consideration to

the institution regarded in assessing its present and upcoming students of Senior High

School. It focuses on the quantification of data that can be able to help the school for

academic and non-academic purposes if given the venture that the study relates to the

matter upheld.

When a person decides, there are a lot of factors that affect the decision making.

Be it the environment, other persons surrounding him/her, personal interest, religion,

culture, emergency situations – whatever the reason, it uproots to certain situations or

life they have. One example of this is the matter of choosing of students about the track

or strand they want or need, depends on course. Even their choice of school depends

on the school itself or the financial expenses to be shouldered. There are a lot of

considerations to make. Before making the decision, people firstly outweigh things

concerning the situation.

Since this study concentrates on the statistical analysis of the track and strand

that consists the highest number of respondents, the disclosure of the entirety of the

research evolves only in the objectivity of the data gathered.

According to Sir Marc Pascual, Chairman of Grade 10 Faculty, Present Grade 10

students of Lal-lo National High School for the school year 2017-2018 were already

oriented with half of the career guidance program mandatorily intended for them for their

continuation of Senior High School last October 2017. There is a one-week post career

guidance program for upcoming Grade 11 students in accordance to DepEd Order No.

22 in the beginning of the academic year. With this orientation, these Grade 10

students, the researchers decided to conduct this research regarding this matter.
 In addition to this, the acknowledgement of this study focused on such matters

stated on the first paragraph gives an advantage to the institution itself and to

consecutive researches.
