[am providing nine months’ notice in order for a new president to be seleoted and in place upon my retirement. thas been my great honor to serve for six years as the President of this fine eollege, and I thank the Trustees and you for this exceptional opportunity. Together, we have improved upon an institution which already had an excellent reputation in North Carolina and the region.
