To the Mayor, Members of Lambton Shores Council and CAO;

The Lambton Shores Community Association held our Executive meeting in

December 2018 to review member feedback we requested at the end of the 2018
season, to determine concerns that need to be addressed.

Firstly, many thanks for enforcing a system to fine property owners whose
renters do not respect the by-laws. Secondly, we appreciated the initiation of
including restrictions on buses, to the Parking Bylaw. Signage at the entrance to
these areas is necessary though. Keep up the good work.

A new issue since the legalization of marijuana is the smoking on the beaches.
We believe that council should NOT allow any smoking on the beaches. This is a
public place full of children who would be exposed to the drug.

This past year, troubling concerns raised by several families in Plan 24 in

previous years, have escalated.

1. Residents observed even more congestion on beaches and interference with

the Lifeguards. Tents are erected too close to the lifeguard towers.
Lifeguards have to deal with recalcitrant visitors and this is not their job.

2. There is a need for better communication between life guards, OPP and
Bylaw Enforcement Officers. The 2018 summer could have had full time bylaw
officers and OPP just for the beach.

3. The North Beach needs another lifeguard, and residents are concerned the
lights on the North Beach have not been repaired.

4. Signage at all beach entrances needs to be erected at unloading points

before people have taken all their things to the beach.

5. Walkways to the beach need to be cleaned of sand and kept up on a weekly
basis not just after residents call and complain for a month at a time.

Specifically, at the end of Beach Street and Beach Lane, a permanent solution
is necessary. Note that continued paving over of driveways and lawns is just
directing more water down this walkway.

6. Safety concerns are still a high priority at the corner of Beach and Hill
Streets. A four-way stop is absolutely necessary to provide safety for all
residents using these streets.

7. Residents are still upset that some people are charging for parking on
private property without a licence. It is creating chaos and out of control
visitors in the areas it is operating. Please enforce the Parking Licence criteria.

Finally residents are asking council to ensure Bylaw enforcement has the
resources to improve enforcement activities.

We are asking Council to deal appropriately with these concerns.

I trust we will hear back from the Municipality on this matter as soon as possible.
