INTRODUCCIÓN
Guía No.3. Manejo de Conflicto y Negociación: El Gerente en Acción.
ABSTRACT
Guía No.3. Manejo de Conflicto y Negociación: El Gerente en Acción.
This document seeks an understanding of conflicts and the stratagems that can be
taken to guide a negotiation. Although negotiation models allow certain objectives to be
achieved, not all of them generate the same consequence, such as the generation of
strategic alliances, good communication and attitude, because of the generation of win-win
agreements, to the creation of Quarrels and enmities that can endure and affect the future
of a company.
In addition, the necessary skills and tools will be analyzed for negotiation processes,
where it is evident that preparation, self-control, trust, social skills and ethics are pillars in
the achievement of negotiations that allow the parties to generate value and Maintenance
of harmonic, profitable and long-term relationships.
Guía No.3. Manejo de Conflicto y Negociación: El Gerente en Acción.
Guía No.3. Manejo de Conflicto y Negociación: El Gerente en Acción.
Guía No.3.

Guía No.3. Manejo de Conflicto y Negociación: El Gerente en Acción.
Guía No.3.

7. This point has to be solved in English. Taking the idea that you developed in the first
guide, please describe how do you handle negociations with vendors in your SME?
What aspects would you apply in order to keep long-term relations with your
suppliers?
Usually carries out its own research, development and innovation processes to
provide proprietary solutions to its customers. However, because the company is in the
stage of growth, for the moment it is forced to work with other companies, which provide
the necessary technology for the development of the company's projects.

Guía No.3. Manejo de Conflicto y Negociación: El Gerente en Acción.
In the initial phases and in the majority of the times, negotiation with collaboration
methodology is used. So far there has been no need to resort to negotiations involving
more aggressive or pressured techniques such as coercion. For this reason, it is important
for the company to give the supplier sufficient importance, to understand it and to generate
the trust and commitment that avoids most conflicts.
In the same way, as in the individual part of this guide, the company is guided by
integrative negotiation through the collaboration method, maintaining the general scheme
and the 4 proposed phases, as shown in figure 15 of the individual part of the Present
activity (Whetten & Cameron, 2016).
In addition, the following figure shows a general outline of the negotiation model
implemented by the company for its negotiation processes with suppliers and in general
with external actors, understanding that the fundamental basis is the preparation and
understanding of the expectations and Needs of the parties involved (Queensland
Government, 2017).
The first step is to understand the type of situation, which can come from human
interaction or difference of financial expectations, egos, and a whole series of elements
that can turn a negotiation process into something very simple or very complex. That is
why it is essential that negotiations are always driven by the principles and values of the
company in order to generate negotiation processes where the company does not take
unethical advantage, on the contrary, generating value in different actors.

1.1. Write down two paragrapsh explaining two aspects or insights of this skill that are
most important to you. Might be areas of weakness, the area’s most want to improve,
or the most relevant areas for a problem that is facing at this time. El objeto de
aprendizaje titulado 2 “Managing interpersonal conflict”
Compliance is a strategy little used, since, although helping the cooperation of the
company, I must always be objective without deviating from the managerial goal.
Therefore, it seems to me important to highlight that I aligned with the integrative strategy,
since it is defined as one of the best in the case of conflict resolution, which is pointed out,
however, there are to improve, the goals do not Lose their course from management and
achieve an excellent working environment where everyone is willing to participate for the
continuous improvement of the company.
As for why they improve, I tend not to disguise that my concerns are not my problems
without the more than I can think of in the whole situation, At a time when the situation in
the negotiation is complicated, as the Improvement plan I must control those impulses
where the genie generates this above the interests of all. I also feel that in situations of
conflict, I alone am responsible for the control of meetings and decisions so I am dazzled
and I think that only what I am talking about is important without listening to the interlocutor
and what he is trying to express.
1.2. Identify the scenario or situation where to apply this skill. Set performance plan,
indicating a description of the situation. ¿Who else is involved? ¿When will? ¿Where
it will be held?
Definitely these aspects to improve personal if they affect the productivity and the
objectives of the company, since to find myself in a situation under pressure I believe that
the only alternative is the one that I am generating and this is going to us to lead by the
best way that is as normally I act when I am under pressure, and I have my orders executed
as planned without hearing other alternatives and evaluate them to find a better solution,
that is, sometimes they are successful since I remain in permanent contact with everything
but I can fail thanks To my temper or to be subjected to a stressful situation where the
scenarios can become different, more when the responsibility falls directly on me.
Some prerequisites for organizations to achieve high performance are less
centralized decision making, less hierarchical direction, and less autocratic leadership.
Organizations must be more flexible and organic. Employees are expected to be adaptable
and self-managed. Managers should invite others to participate in decision-making and
facilitate broad participation and accountability (Eisenhart and Galunic, 1993, Lawrence
and Lorsch, 1967). Employee flexibility must match the flexibility of the environment
(Ashby, 1956).
1.3. ¿How do you know if your performance was effective? Please explain ¿what are the
indicators of success to measure your performance?
To improve this hability me, it is necessary to have more leadership and to handle
well the subjects of control of the emotions, especially the handling of bad temper and to
act under pressure. Therefore, not only for the negotiations but also for the day to day with
my colleagues, I must resolve and improve in the topics of listening, assigning specific
tasks without complacency and avoiding evasion by other people to fulfill fully and improve
performance Not only at the individual level but also at the group level.
Guía No.3. Manejo de Conflicto y Negociación: El Gerente en Acción.
Here is a schedule of activities in the short term to improve these skills and improve
my performance as a leader:

Finish the semester of mastery
2. You are Mr. Smith, Sales Director at Milks Inc. The company has an average
performance for a rapidly growing market. The new CEO, Mario Savala, is making a lot
of pressure on you to increase sales. You feel the main obstacle is the company´s credit
policy. Miryam, the head of the credit department, insists that all new customers must

2.1. Accordint to Chapter 7 on conflict management from guide book, ¿What are the
salient situational factors? Justify your answer.
The situational problems presented in this case are increased sales, a strong
problem in the credit policy since it is very extensive from filling out a form, until the
evaluation that is made to who wants to request it since the level of risk Allowed is low,
handle an inflexible loan and collection procedure, competition handles more flexible
policies which translates is that they are not on an equal footing with the competition and

this factor has not allowed the increase of sales. For these needs, situational considerations
and conflict management methods were used to evaluate which of them is the most
applicable in this case.
1. Importance of the issue: How important is the issue in dispute? (High: extremely
important; low: not very important).
3. Relative power: What is the relative level of power or authority among individuals
in conflict? (High: from boss to subaltern, equal: comrades, low: subordinate to boss).
collaboration between the peers (either bosses and sub alternans) for the solution to the
credit policies that after An analysis is that this reduces sales considerably compared to
the competition given the flexibility they present at the time of granting a credit to
customers. On the other hand, although the portfolio area seeks to generate minimal risk,
it must find a solution as it is generating problems in sales, which in the medium term can
lead to bigger problems.
2.2. After reading chapter 7, please respond what is the strategy most appropriate way
to conflicts? Justify your answer.
The integrative negotiation also allows to expose all the points of view and the needs
"on the table" which leads to an active participation of the people, each giving its
contribution so that the negotiation gives the best way, since "In Negotiation, make
reasonable offers and are based on objective criteria to define them, establish rules of
mutual respect, explore many solutions, information is accessible and interpersonal
relationship is Understood as a peer relationship. " (Cañón, 2010)

CONCLUSIONS
Guía No.3. Manejo de Conflicto y Negociación: El Gerente en Acción.
Negotiation techniques are effective means for solving problems or situations that,
through proper preparation, can generate value in the company.
The organizational culture and the recognition of the new market conditions become
an important input for the solution of conflicts, given the plurality of the markets and the
present forms of leadership in the organizations by the diversity of generations in the
collaborators, Which provides a universe of points of view that generates the levels of
controversy that the companies currently suffer, but if it generates a good management of
the change for the resolution of the conflicts they become opportunities to keep the
business afloat and a good Mentoring system between the different generations of
collaborators present in the company to preserve the knowledge in the company.
