Reflective Essay

Communicating is difficult especially for a shy person asking for help. Communicating

with a professor and peers is terrifying because I am not sure what their responds will be or if my

question will be silly. Several thoughts run threw my head before I get the courage to ask for

assistants. It should not be this way because everyone should be able to properly communicate

with others and should not be afraid of communicating. Communication is extremely important

because it is part of our daily life’s. Communicating with others should not be terrifying

especially asking for help on major projects or simple questions. I learned that no matter what

question I may have it is important to communicate because if I do not then I will be completely

lost when it comes to major projects or assignments. Communicating properly will help achieve

every goal in life because communication is the key.

In the causal and proposal essay was extremely hard to start because I was not sure where

to begin. I was afraid to ask my professor or peers for help because I did not want them to know I

was stuck. This is lack of communication I was just hurting myself for not asking any questions

and trying to figure out how to start the causal and proposal essay. Most importantly I was scared

of asking help from Professor Moore because I did not want her to think I was slacking because

of the time I was starting my essay. I completed my essay in a week, a couple of days before my

conference. I felt so pressured in completing the essay before the conference, so Professor Moore

could believe that I completed my essay in plenty of time but in reality, I was stress out a ton. I

could have asked for help when I needed it and I would not have been stressing out in

completing the essay in a week. I learned this semester that communication is super important no

matter how big or small the question may be. Communing makes life so much easier.

This spring semester I learned several important things that will help me along the way. I

learned several ways to help me become a better writer because before taking composition (II) I

did not like writing at all. I struggled when it came to writing essays or papers. I feel like I was

never taught how to properly write an essay and make it sound good. During high school I did

not have great English teachers so once I took composition (I) in college it was kind of difficult.

After composition (I) I felt average when it came to write, and now after taking composition (II)

I feel great. I also learned that never leave assignments or essays last minute because it is

extremely stressful writing a 1,500-word essay less than a week. Always communicated with

professor for help in any assignment no matter how many times I have emailed the professor. It

is important to ask as many questions than be stuck and fail the assignment. Overall, I feel great

this semester, I learned several things that will be helpful in the future.

In conclusion this semester was great it was full of challenges, but I was able to

overcome and make the best out of it. Learning several important things, and especially learning

how to communicate because out of the time I have been taking course I have never emailed my

professor until this semester. It is always important to look back at the accomplishments I have

made and keep going to achieve my goals and dreams.
