1. OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson 75% of the students will be able

a) Cognitive : Explain the political structures
b) Psychomotor: Demonstrate being a member/leader in a group.
c) Affective: Appreciate the importance of a leader.

The learners demonstrate an understanding of social and political inequalities as
features of societies and the global community.

The Politics of the Philippines
take place in an organized
framework of a presidential,
representative, and
democratic republic whereby
the president is both the head
of the state and the head of
the government within a
pluriform multi-party system.
This system revolves
around three separate and
sovereign yet
interdependent branches:
Executive power- is
exercised by the government
under the leadership of the
president.
Legislative power- is vested
in both the government and
the two-chamber Congress:
the Senate (the upper
chamber) and the House of
Representative (the lower
chamber)
Judicial power- is vested in
the courts with the Supreme
Court of the Philippines as the
highest judicial body.
